Big thank you to Crash55 for coming through with a spare cover. Although we live a opposite ends of the state we managed to get a volunteer Hillclimb racer from Pittsburg to haul it to the Pagoda Hillclimb for me. What luck!
Thanks again, Bill!

It’s been my experience that you cannot move photos from your phone or tablet. No simple copy and past such as on Facebook. You have to import them on a desktop.

Well that didn’t go as planned. Couldn’t get enough pitch for the fuel to flow. The best course of action is to move the fuel fill cap. By centering the fill cap on the rear cover, the connection could be made with one hose.
We’ll see how it really works after I use up all the gas that’s in there from all the trial and error.

I’ve put up with slow fuel fill for over 30 years. I’ve finally gotten around to addressing that. At the same time I will be installing rollover protection.
That 90* bend made it impossible to fill the tank quickly. Fuel would often splash back and spill on the body.
This unit has a spring loaded cover on it’s base.

I don’t know how far you’ve made it. I’m into reassembly. I’ve taken photos on my way out you might find helpful
on your way in.
Once you remove the hat on the rear cover you’ll be able to access the filler hose and wiring. The factory fill is a bottleneck that makes refilling a PITA. I’m finally addressing that.
