The Chevette manual reproduced here is showing the original Chevette radiator being used. A cross flow unit with side tanks.
Michael, can you jump in here and help Bob out? I’m of no help on the Chevette model.

I’ve taken the seat back and put it up on the package tray. Cut it down for height. I’ve also taken a few inches out of the seat base.

Took the car out Sunday afternoon during the recent heat wave. With air temps in the mid 90’s I put about 25 miles on it. The temp gauge just creeped up on 210* when I got it home. Considering how hot out it was, I was pleased. I was also cooked.
Tonight I made a paper template of the hood which will go to the fabricator for louvre production.

The original Mustang radiator was a 2 core, which is what I am currently running. I’ve saved that link for the 3 core for future reference. Last Saturday morning when it was cool I drove mine to work apx 17 miles. By the time I got there the temp gauge was just climbing over 200*. Before I came home in the heat of the day I dumped (2) bottles of R…[Read more]

Except for taping off the limits for top and bottom, mine were done freehand. Just took out what looked right.

Yours looks good. Metal hood or louvered sheet grafted in?

While waiting for the fabricator to punch louvers into aluminum sheets that I plan on grafting into the sides, I decided to cut out the fake louvers. Why not? They’re going to be cut up anyway.
I started using a vibrating saw to cut all the vertical lines.
The, using a Dremel I shaped the tips and used a grinder to smooth out the spacing.

I finally managed to get Run 1 off of the camera. (cheap Chinese GoPro knockoff)
I don’t care for the camera location but it doesn’t shake or squeak.

Carlisle this year was a shakedown run for the TDr8. The heat issue was identified and plans are currently underway to install real louvers in the side panels to extract the heat.
Moving on to the Pagoda Hillclimb.
Pulled the safety cage out and washed it.
I had ordered permanent numbers for the car, so they were finally installed.
