Sorry, Paul. I have no I dea where I got it, or even when. I grabbed it for one of the calendar projects. Could have been the 2011 effort, before the site changes. Back when navigating the gallery was something I could sort of do…

tire pressure: 16 front (not a misprint), 26 back. Or 24. You’ll feel it. It will feel better.

Wow. I’m thinking I need to take out my tank and inspect, prophylactically.

I’ve seen that car before, on this forum. Here is a picture of it plugged in to a battery charger, in a garage. Same plate, I think.
Anyone remember whose this was? Or know how to track down the phots from that poster? Paul?

Well, a few of the Speedster folks made the trip. I ended up parked to a pretty fly ’53 Morgan. Here is the full report.

Welcome to you, Dick. Please tell more about the tires. I might have a similar problem.I hear tell you can balance out-of-round tires by shaving the tread at a performance tire shop.

What’s the build manual say? Does it say to relocate the filler neck on the tank you have? That might be the easy route.

The seals will blow out also if they are not seated. The stock tubes have a “bellows” on them that needs to be extended before reinstall of them and the heads. That pushes the seals down into the slots where they fit. These are stock tubes, right?

The push rod cracked? or the push rod tube?

Roy, your car doesn’t look to me like it sits too high. Dropping the nose 2.5 inches would be a bit much, imho. To your questions:The off-the-shelf narrowed beam is only 2 inches narrow. I think that would tuck the wheels under the fender OK but would not be as narrow as a stock TD.I think the drop spindles put the track out a little, but not an…[Read more]

Ah! I get it now.Ball joints complicate the matter, but the whole job may not cost as much as you’ve been quoted. I will probably need new ball joints too at some point, and the press-in thing means I’ll be getting the job done by someone with a press and some knowledge, rather than DIY. I would be interested to hear your guy’s quote on that job.…[Read more]

Yeah, I love that recessed panel too. Very slick.I’ve got a Classic Instruments tach & it’s fine. I also have VDO oil pressure and volt gauges. They’re all white but the fonts and pointers don’t match each other.I went to whitegauges.net for the speedo. It’s a simple kit. I’d like to try and fet a set of mint green faces for everything but taking…[Read more]

Kent, your second paragraph is wrong. You lower the car and that takes away downward travel. That means the stock shock will tend to bottom out. I know this because it does on my car. With the shorty shock it didn’t bottom, but the tire would rub–driver’s side (I should have bought a narrowed beam). And with the shorty I had less than an inch of…[Read more]

You could do 3/8 or even 1/4-inch plywood. More plys is better, as is marine plywood (the glue is water-proof, so it will tend not to delaminate as readily). I ordered some on line–little 2 x 4 foot piece was like $20 or $25 delivered. That’s enough for two dashboards. I like the idea of vinyl with a wood center. Look at Schu’s car for an example…[Read more]
