This looks very promising.
I think I counted six TDs on the field briefly in 2011, including a dude
from around Baltimore whose name I’ve forgotten (he never joined the
board), and the clock maker guy from Delaware whose front-engine BCW had
the plate LVLY LDY or something like that. Great car, nice guy; haven’t
heard from him in a while. Might…[Read more] -

I’d consider those things in the realm of accessory cooling. They probably won’t hurt, but best if you get or make the tins you need.Have you been to the Samba web site? Lots of people selling old tins there. I’d be surprised if the part you need didn’t come for sale once in a while. Also, word on chrome, stainless, etc.: black is better for heat…[Read more]

I always liked the short stroker small blocks. It was said they liked to rev a bit more willingly than the 350s & 400-stroker motors. Valves a little shrouded in the 283 version but not so much in the 302. Used to be you could pick up power pack heads for a song (or less) from anyone with a garage (’cause they wanted “fuelie” 461x heads with…[Read more]

My old alto sax is stashed in a closet. Haven’t touched it in a decade or so. Would love to say I play but it’d be a lie.

I’m liking this idea, Roy. But thinking to keep the guitar in its case and use leather hood straps. Just buckle in an extra belt to go over the case!

Dudes? Funding? From a newspaper??!Do you guys even read newspapers? I can’t hardly even get my salary funded these days.If I wasn’t otherwise unemployable I’d be getting a new job right about now.

It is, indeed, “Loti.”Indianapolis Speedway in the TD! That is too awesome. So where is the photo, for the calendar?Loved that Richard Petty thing too. But the urge to try to pass that lead guy was pretty strong at 125mph….

“Dopes not Dope.” Sounds right. Though I would still burn one if anyone offered. And I wasn’t driving. And didn’t have work in the morning. And . . .

Looks like a five-hour run from my town–240 miles or so. Quite an adventure if Karen agrees to it.

All good ideas, Allen. I’d also love to get a shot of one under construction. And Roy–also great ideas, especially the dashboard one. I actually have quite a few shots of my car, Bill’s car, Shubie’s car and yours. Paul sent a nice one of his in setting too, and there are a few others. I’m hoping for a few more pics of a few different members’…[Read more]

OK, guys. I have a total of 10 pictures right now, including near-duplicates. At most it’s half a calendar.I will be needing more big pictures of different members TDs.Remember, these can be anything from cars under construction to cars under power. Close-ups of details, different weather situations, motion, loved ones–whatever!Bill: I would much…[Read more]

Sorry, Allen, I have no idea how they’re wired. The VW flasher was one of several items I did not have to rewire when I tackled the instrument cluster last year.

Yeah. In a TD you hardly qualify as a cager.

Looking about. This guy was all into documenting what fits with what. The email link still works. No idea if he’s still there though.UPDATE (and I quote):Still here.
He will need a new bellhousing. The 2.3 and 2.8 are very different.

When I took the straight 6 and 3-speed out of my ’67 Nova and replaced with a 350 from a ’74 truck and a wide-ratio Muncie 4-speed, I used the same bell housing. Ford will likely be similar. The Cologne 2.8 and the 2.3 went in the same cars and probably used all the same transmissions.Still a guess though. Did you call that Pinto owner whose…[Read more]

Love that article. And Roy: you must have done something right. I think I may have shook your son’s hand the other day. That idea that the first response to a challenge or problem is to grab some tools? It’s weird now but I think that’s gonna come back. Big.
