Hey Bill,
I found the post (Oct 3, 2015) but the links to the various pictures don’t work…???
I assume that you remove the bumper at the chassis and bolt on your tow bar adapter???
…but then again, if I don’t get busy I’ll still be working on bolting fiberglass panels on come May…..

Great information — Now I know why fate “forced” me into buying a front engine, Ford-based TDr — so I can build a teardrop trailer and tow it to the beach with my TDr — I’m sure it would be a real head turner, as you all have said —
Ed, you mentioned that these little trailers do not have trailer brakes — why not add them to the trailer and…[Read more]

Hey Bill,
That engine compartment is going to look so awesome that you may want to put plexiglass windows in the hood and floodlights in the engine bay so everyone can admire it…….that would keep you from wearing out the hood hinges opening and closing the hood to show off the “guts and Glory” of the TDr…!!!
Looking forward to seeing…[Read more]

OK Bill,
What is an Accusump and how does it work??? Does every hill climbing MG TDr need one? == especially if the car has a fine front engine????

More progress trying to get the hood to line up at both ends — “mark — cut — test fit — mark — cut — test fit — sand — repeat as needed…..”
And we got it to be as good as it gets — we adjusted out as much as was possible given the fact that the hood was pre-trimmed sometime in its past 30 years by one of its prior owners.
It turns…[Read more]

HappyJack replied to the topic Who knew???? in the forum General Discussion 8 years, 3 months ago
…My Bad — they mentioned both tilt wheel and telescoping steering in their ad.
I’d also like to find out where the steering column came from. My “portly” body could benefit from a rig that tilts and telescopes.

.. They may have meant tilt steering wheel, not telescoping.
Some of the pictures do show the tilt lever as well as the directional lever on the left side of the steering wheel.
Bill, do you have a tilt wheel? Do you have an after market steering wheel in your car? Is it a Grant? Flat or dished? I’m trying to find out what my options are for r…[Read more]

We don’t have replicas, we have TRIBUTE cars!! Here’s part of the description as posted on Ebay….I just ran across the best Tag Line for describing our cars in an Ebay ad:
“…This MG TD tribute for sale is one fun runner, loaded with a 2.3 liter inline 4-cylinder engine that was plucked out of a ’79 Mustang. With only a little over 6k…[Read more]

Lookin’ good!!
The pictures really help me in seeing where stuff is located in an “already built” kit — since I only have a book and a bare chassis to start with on my project.
I still think you sprinkled some MG magic dust over that engine to make it fit under the hood.
Keep up with the pictures — can’t wait to see it at Carlisle in May.…[Read more]

Hey Ed,
Love the new gauges — the car will definitely warrant the extra effort of glassing in this setup!!
I also like the fact that the odometer shows “actual milage” at the last rebuild. It makes a great way to talk about the car’s pedigree, history, and your restoration/enhancement. Go forward and glass & resin & gel………and forget a…[Read more]
