Keith True replied to the topic Tires in the forum General Discussion 18 years ago
Tires are getting hard to find locally,so I found some at something like tiresonline,or maybe the tire rack.I got the same as on one of my other cars, they are Kumhos. They seem to be fine, and they are only $32.each.I used the Yahoo search and found the same tires at a dozen different places so it was just a matter of price and freight shopping.

Wendy,I am not sure what part of the dash face you need, but MG Magic has the whole wooden dash in stock.(or they did) They sell the tops with the side curtains included. They are no longer making up carpet kits up though. He does have a few sets left in burgundy and red right now.I called him a week ago to order two carpet sets in tan or brown and…[Read more]

If it is a TD replica and not the real thing you are way better off to buy the parts new from MG Magic in Hollywood Fla.The price of rechroming will stagger you.The phone # is posted in many places on this website. They have no website of their own so you have to call.I got prices of $6-$700 to do my bumpers,I bought new ones for about $120 each.

Do you have any free play in your clutch pedel? If there is too much it will not completely disengage when you step on it.Or,your clutch may just be getting bad.Warped disc, weak pressure plate, dragging pilot bearing, chances are good that the problem is just in the clutch. It is not a big job and the parts are reasonable. You also don”t need the high…[Read more]

The hinges are not all that expensive from MG Magic. You will get a shock when you price chrome now,and old pot metal is the worst. You can also get them from a marine supply but MG Magic was a lot cheaper.

Paul,I have tried to post but the site says my pics are too big. They are sized for all the other places I use so I am not going to get them changed just for this.I am a computer idiot so I am not going to try anything with my pics.

I absolutely hate those wire peices of trash.I have three of these cars and use the slotted VW wheels, flat VW hubcaps, and skinny trim rings.I would like to find the right size MG emblems to put in the center of the VW hubcaps.I run the wood finished dashes just because I like them, and a friend that restores TD”s uses them too for the same reason.I…[Read more]

Mirrors you can get from MG Magic in Florida.Look around this site and you can find a bunch of posts where the phone # is given. No website though. On powdercoating,It may look pretty and all that, but I have had a lot of experience with it and not all of it good.Once there is a chip water tends to creep under and travel like a spider lifting the…[Read more]

Hamish,I figured out how to access your pics after I posted.I am not at all familiar with your brand of body,I am sure others are though. It would be well worth your time to call Brad at MG Magic and describe the car to him.By the time you give him a couple of details he will spout the name and history of the builder. The top on that car in no way…[Read more]

Hamish, open the hood and look on the passengers side firewall. There may be an emblem embossed there. If there is there will be a # molded in below it.Call MG Magic and tell them the # if you find it.If not,he can tell you what to look for to ID the car.If you do find the # he can tell you who bought the kit and on what date. His tops were…[Read more]

Dan,I have one of these also.I just emailed them and got a message back with a phone # to call and the name of a person to talk to.For some reason I happened to look in the incoming bulk and there it was.Normally I just delete all that.I took the # to the garage with me so it is not in front of me.I had inquired about parts and got the message,we…[Read more]

Do you have both of the top bows in place? The front one adjusts up and down on the rear one on a slide. The roof has to have pressure on it to hold it taut.Does it have all its snaps, and is the front held in securely?I have a couple of these on the road, and my tops just shake and billow just like any other convertible, but no more so.Could you get…[Read more]

That design front end is probably the most bulletproof there is.The front end guy that I use for my shop said you would have to put it in upside down for it to not work.He is changing the camber on my Model A Fords for me.They were designed for balloon tires and tend to run on the edges. He said with the new tires and no ruts in the roads the axle…[Read more]

MG Magic could not help you with them? What did they have to say about it?

I could be wrong, but I think the BCW was the one that used the original MG tops and side curtains.Call MG Magic at 954-680-2010.Have your body number in front of you and see what he has to say.

I just removed the leaves from a cut front beam in one of my cars. Then the ice set in and I won”t get to try it till spring.I was going to cut the beam and put back to original but the ride height has not changed. That really surprised me.I thought there would be a substantial drop.It did not surprise the front end guy I use.I will find out in the…[Read more]
