Hi,
No hands on experience with an Allison. But to drop a VW motor out of a car, you only need a few inches of clearance to slide the engine back.
On My Duchess, I accomplished that by cutting away some of the fiberglass on the rear valance (wasn’t much, and I followed the rough outline of the engine block. I have to remove the crank pulley…[Read more]

Touche, “touche”!
Voices are the number of participants in a specific thread (not the number of times they have posted; one member posting ten comments on a single thread is still one “voice”).

Hi folks,
In your travels through the real and virtual car worlds, please keep your eyes out for a solid, running TDr in British racing green. Power train really doesn’t matter.
I know someone looking for a complete, running, green TDr. She is not in a position to build or restore.
If you spot anything, either reply here, private message me, or…[Read more]

If I recall correctly, Classic Roadsters had mods for either the Ford or Chevy drivetrains. This many years later, it would not surprise me to see “hybrids” out there.

Hi folks,
I’m sure many of you know this. But just in case…
Photobucket recently made a change that blocks links to photos stored at Photobucket unless the owner upgrades to a premium account at the cost of either $10 or $40 per month.
To put that in perspective, our site hosting fees for tdreplica.com are roughly $100 per year! Photobucket…[Read more]

Love this event…but am a definite maybe this year.
Trying to schedule my third surgery of the year. One foot procedure and one meniscus repair already done. One more foot deal to go. The best time may be mid to late September. I’ll be off my feet for four to five weeks post-op. Stay tuned….

Great video Bill. And great driving!
I really like the camera placement. Perfect view. And you appear to have worked out the engine/road noise vs wind noise balance!
That’s our man Ed. Always working in the shadows. Or is that lurking? I’m never quite sure!

As always, thank you for your hard work on our behalf!
I’ve no problem with the name change to “MG TD Replica Car Club”.
While the primary membership has been owners, we have always had “fans” and “seekers” here.

So happy to see you spending time on your TDr…and not spending all your time working on the TD website!
Kudos!

Stephen,
I love your car’s color!
Are the LED taillights split between turn signal, and running/brake light?
And does your stock turn signal switch still work? Or did you have to replace it?

Stephen,
I have one. It’s huge. I have not had the time to get it scanned to PDF.
If you have access to a good scanner, I can FedEx you the entire packet. If not, I will try to get around to this!

Rob and Dave’s Aircooled Pages are a great resource too:
Their brakes pages are indexed here:

Some simple first steps:
Visual inspection – looking for things like fluid leaks, soft brake lines. Bad? Fix it. Good?
Brake pedal – Is it firm? If sot, likely need to bleed the…[Read more]
