Hi jesdreamer,
I’ll translate for Ed and Bill. 😉They are suggesting the market for TDr hardtops may be very limited. And suggesting there may be a larger market for hardtops among the speedster guys. There is a lot of discussion on the SOC about the possibilities. Here’s the challenge, as I see it, to making this a viable business. I doubt… -

Steve…
Yes. You need a Bus cable.Compared to a Beetle, our TDr dash is several feet to the rear. Remember, we are sitting where the rear seat was in the donor Beetle. -

Well, at least the first and last response were accurate.
Yes Steve, that is the lever that opens and closes the valves on the two heater boxes. In an original VW, there is a twin on the other side of the emergency brake lever that directed teh warm air to the defrosters. -

Sorry about your luck. But I’m damn glad I know what a clevis is.I wonder what the reaction would be if I told most of my friends, “My friend Bill lost his clevis and couldn’t drive.”?

Steve,A VW?Easy peasy.Pop the left front wheel wheel cover. You will see a c-clip on a rod sticking through the hub. Remove the clip, pull the speedo cable out from the back side.On the back of the speedo, unscrew the retainer, pull the cable from the speedo.Depending on the size of the hole through your firewall, you may have to pull the cable…[Read more]

Pictures of my seat brackets are in a post directly after this one.I’ve no idea if the Beetle rear seat would work. The interior was the first thing gone during the dissambly process. Plus, my seat bottom and back came completely upholstered. There’d be no point recovering the Beetle seat to match the Classic Roadsters Ltd. in…[Read more]
