I believe the Bosch D Jetronic system was factory installed on type 3 (the Squareback) and 4 (the 411/412) VWs. But if you can find all the parts, it should be adaptable to the Type 1 engine. There’s a pretty lengthy fuel injection discussion on the Samba:http://www.thesamba.com/vw/forum/viewtopic.php?t=353813And here is Jake Raby’s take on fuel…[Read more]

I suspect you are right about “it” being an Eagle.Antique & Classic had a chrome grill, but typically came with a straight bar bumper as seen in this ad:
Front fender line and the rear fender line on your car is also a bit different than on the Antique & Classic. And the A&C hood went all the way to the grill shell. Looks like your car and pictures…[Read more] -

Hi John,
No idea.It was typical to use some abreviated form of company name and a serial number, often indicating the year too. But there is no standard format for a kit manufacturer supplied serial number. Not sure what to make of “929323/R”PMOSSBERG2015-05-29 15:47:12

Others may know the year by year changes better than I do, but I’d think the ’68 and ’71 front ends would be the same.
Finally looked to see where Vail AZ is. TUrns out I’ve been nearby a lot. My uncle used to live in Green Valley.PMOSSBERG2015-05-29 09:39:55

George Levine, mentioned on the page LRH linked to, was the snake behind CMC. After CMC was closed down by the State of Florida, the dear Mr. Levine reappeared as Street Beasts…a company as equally disreputable as CMC became.FiberFab kits and cars before they were bought by CMC are a different breed than those built after CMC ownership.

This isn’t mine, but it is what she looked like…1965 Dodge Coronet Convertible 500.
Mine had a robin’s egg blue interior…with factory air!
This is her cousin, a 1965 Plymouth Satellite convertible, which I acquired about fifteen years ago:
This one will be for sale soon.PMOSSBERG2015-05-28 13:00:55

Here’s Eagle Coach works web site:http://www.eaglecoachwork.com/I recall the name from years ago. had no idea they might still be in business. If they are, that is a big plus as far as buying this kit. To have manufacturer support if you need is a big deal!

Her name was Colette.
Oh. Wait a minute. You’re talking about cars. Sorry was distracted there for a minute.
I’ve always lusted after an XKE. Never had one. And don’t really have a history of cars I let slip away.First car was a 1965 Dodge Coronet 500 Convertible with factory air. But about fifteen years ago, I got close with my 1965 Plymouth…[Read more] -

You’re welcome here regardless of what car you end up building. How made this kit? You say they are still in business, albeit not in the kit car business. That’s a surprise.About the roof bars…you are right, the front one is sitting too low. It is possible the two bars are reversed. Quick way to tell…does the rear bar align with a seam in the…[Read more]

Not a Gazelle. It is an SS 100 Jaguar, but I’m not able to tell what manufacturer. There were only a couple. But it does not appear to be either a Classic Roadsters Ltd Duke nor an Antique & Classics.
