Those coming to Carlisle from points south on Thursday May 14 should consider meeting up with fellow travelers at Maggies in Westminster for lunch.

Stephen Houser replied to the topic Site is super slow… in the forum Site 2 weeks ago
So it’s highly likely that all the crawler bots and AI information-gathering is what’s slowing our site down. At least according to our provider.
They suggest a 3rd-party “front end” (cloudflare) to put in front of our site to alleviate the problem. It’s somewhat a tricky change and will likely take the site down for a few hours while things…[Read more]

Upgraded underlying PHP version to latest… seeing if that helps. Provider was going to do it automatically in a few days anyhow. Figured I’d do it in a controlled manner instead.

If it helps your thoughts, we’re on the “cheap” plan from our provider and that’s what they are claiming the slowness is from. Donations can help us look at the next level up and perhaps better site performance.

Will Do, Gregg.
And everyone else: Do not call the number I posted at the top of this thread. I made a mistake, that’s Mary’s personal cell phone. If you need to call the Courtyard Marriott, use their desk number: 717-766-9006
You can make a reservation using this link.

Seems to be a bit better today. Provider has not really given any good answers. Pretty sure I’m just talking with an AI bot 🙁

Site is running super slow. Have an email out to our provider to look into it.

Oh, if it wasn’t for the price tag. Can’t imagine a TD with the S2000 engine. High horsepower and the ability to sing to 9,000 rpm.
Excellent suggestion, Ed.

Vicenc,! Great to hear from you again.
And what a great problem to have.
Obvs none of us on here have done a BCW front engine swap yet but it’s entertaining to think about what we could or would do if your car was ours.
My first stop on the innerweb is a search of what engine swaps work in a Chevette. Turns out the 60-degree chevy V6 (the o…[Read more]

Have you ever considered a Miata transplant? I don’t believe you were at Carlisle the year “Bob” from Nova
Scotia showed up with a TF replica based on the Miata platform. Powerful enough with plenty of upgrades available.
Good luck on your endeavor.

Excellent, Greg. As Bill mentioned, here’s the hotel info.
I’ve set aside a block of rooms at the Courtyard by Marriott for us, you can book at this link or call the hotel and book under Speedster Owners Group in the meantime at 717-475-2044. The room rate is $129 this year for the king, $139 for two queens.

We usually stay as a group at the Courtyard Marriott in Mechanicsburg. They have given us a break on room rates and allowed use of their conference room for us to hang out. Pricing has not been finalized for this year yet. Looking forward to it.
