A Fiberfab VW based car has flat metal bar extensions from the original pedal cluster to the new cluster that is mounted to the floor pan. It would be an easy fix to just use longer flat steel stock and redrill the holes and move the secondary cluster rearward and closer to your seat if desired. Most people should be able to work with the car. Moving the seat back forward would be a pretty easy mod, and the seat base usually just bolts to the floor pan with four bolts. You drill new holes three inches forward and there you go. The only possible problem is that’s only good until your chest hits the steering wheel.

The seat bases are fixed. The seat back is adjustable only in the angle. The pedals are not adjustable. In an extreme case the seat bases can be moved forward and a spacer could be built to move the seat back forward. Every car is different, you can build it to suit you.

Welcome, Dave. I’m in Maryland too. Any good boat top maker should be able to make you a nice replacement. Should be both cheaper and better than an auto top place, as they tend to like to buy off-the-shelf tops and install them, whereas the boat guys often make theirs.
Ours are more like boat tops anyway. -

It’s pretty. If it has sat for a long time I would strongly advise draining all the gas from the tank and the lines before trying to start it.If you can get real gas (non ethanol), you’ll likely save yourself a lot of aggravation. -
