I have some thin cracked material behind my panels. I was thinking of using door skin form Home Depot to support the material.

Are the ballasts used just to lower the stance of the front end or do they improve the driving performance of the car as well? If I dont need it, Id love to have the extra trunk storage space. Ill add drop spindles to lower the front end and loose the box of rocks.Thanks in advance for the advice!

Id block the plates too. We live in a very different world than our Grand Fathers did. To put it bluntly, theres too many freaks out in the cyber world. I love my new set up since I removed the VW colum and installed a 3/4″ steering shaft from EMPI. I moved everything that was on the stock column to the dash. I had a welder attach a custom union to the shaft and found a cool steering shaft support from SoCal speed shop to mount on the dash. I finished it off with a cool banjo wheel.
