Yes that looks like mine . I like the idea of the slight crown in the windshield . It looks fine with a painted grill .
If you knew me you would know i need the project like I need another orifice . I have a fair accumulation of VW parts . And Bug Eyed VW is only about 15 miles away so i have a close source for the parts i may need to put some of this junk i have been falling over to some good .
My firs task is to pull the body and put pans in it and move the peddles as far forward as i can get themThis thought might warrant another thread but on the subject of the hand brake . Mine is still in the stock location and i have the bench seat that i prefer .
It seem like a simple solution would be rob a ebrake mechanism out of some thing that has the tube with the t handle that you pull out to engage and turn a 1/4 turn to release could be mounted under the center of the dash . Take the ratchet mec out of the VW handle and with a cable and a pulley you could go off the VW handle straight up over the pulley than to the back of the tube . I can not see where a T handle under the center of dash would look any worse than the ebrake lever does that you can not use .O I for got to add it does not run its locked up . But that does not present any problems I am fortunate to have a fairly well equipped shop
Yes the grill is no thing of beauty I am still hoping to learn some more about chrome vinyl wrap .This may be offensive to some but it a fiberglass replica so what the harm in adding a little vinyl
I just went over to Samba no Subaru for me I want to drive it before i Die not to mention the cost . A fresh overhaul will make it go fast enough to scratch my itch .
And all of this for 500.00 dollars it would have been a bargain at half that price .Like those guys on American pickers say its all roached out ! I think it look Gangster The Edward G Robinson kind of Gangster .

Yes its been awhile .But I still have a 7ECA Citabra . I started out with my first plane being a Tomahawk but i wanted to be a real pilot so i bought a 1955 170B and before i even had my licenses I also owned a 1952 Cessna 195 with a 275 hp Jacobs then a Maule with a Franklin JUNK ! and now the 7ECA .
I am not one that is crazy about avionics. One good radio and a hand held GPS , full fuel and if can get it to crank I’m gone .taildrager2016-03-25 09:34:53
