That’s Lake Ouachita, close to Hot Springs, ArkansasNovember 25, 2008 at 8:32 pm #237155Sweet ride Ringo!!
I may have to steal your painted grill design!
November 28, 2008 at 3:01 am #237156Beautiful car Ringo..
January 13, 2009 at 4:56 pm #237157Ringo,
Awesome car! I also like the painted slats design. I’m curious, are they actually painted? It almost looks like some kind of applique because it looks like some of the Chrome is still showing on the slats. I think it really dresses up the look.
I’ll bet it turns some heads!

January 14, 2009 at 11:32 am #237158Hey Gang
Sharp eyes! The
previous owner placed the reflective tape on the outside angle of the
slats. Looks good and really is a nice safety feature at
night. It does have some wear and I have replacement on my list
of things to do.Thanks for the comments!

April 19, 2009 at 11:57 am #237159Hey Gang;
got a new licnese plate. I know our replicas are supposed to be of 52s, but I was born in ’53, so I took some liberties.
This is a bimini top boot that I got at a marine supply. I think it really adds to the overall look.

April 19, 2009 at 3:14 pm #237160Ringo,
It just keeps getting better and better.
Also from the looks of the new vegetation in the background, you’re several weeks ahead of us “northerners”

The car looks great. I also have the top boot, it definitely gives a cleaner look. Thanks for the pics!
April 20, 2009 at 7:54 am #237163Great plate on a great car.
I dated mine a ’53 also, wife was born in 53 and it is political correct to keep her happy.
Thanks for the pictures
April 22, 2009 at 10:47 am #237164But is it politically correct to let us all know her age?
Just kidding!
April 22, 2009 at 10:51 am #237165OOOps,
good point, guess none of you will ever meet her
April 22, 2009 at 1:10 pm #237166OH NO…..I didn’t think of that either.
Mel, Florida may be a bit chilly this June .
My wife is a 1955 model, so I was safe ordering a 53 plate, I am a 1953 model.

April 23, 2009 at 1:05 pm #237167Guess most of us are card carrying AARP members here
April 23, 2009 at 2:30 pm #237168I’m 28. Am I the youngest member here? Just curious.
Not that thats bad, I guess I can gain lots of wisdom from you gents!
April 23, 2009 at 2:59 pm #237169Geoff:
Wisdom means we have had our chance to have the adventures you are yet to set out on. Feel free to make our experience make you adventure easier and more enjoyable.
BTW as of today I am 1,116 days from retirement.
April 23, 2009 at 6:16 pm #237170I’m with Mel.
My MGTD adventures started about 25 years later in my life than yours. Geoff, you have much longer to enjoy your MGTD, well at least 25 years or more to get to the point I am now. Mine didn’t start until I was 53, enjoy and benefit from our wisdom (and our mistakes that built that wisdom). I wish I had my MGTD when I was in my twenties, especially a beauty like the one you’ve got .
With the economy like it is, I have about a zillion years before retirement.
Mel’s got two countdowns running, the countdown until June and Florida, and retirement

April 24, 2009 at 8:50 am #237171James:
Amen
1115 days to retirement 50 days till I can drive my TD again
April 24, 2009 at 10:25 am #237172What’s this “retirement” you guys are talking about???
I heard stories about that years ago but I thought they were just fairy tales designed to keep us putting money into large holes that were called 401Ks. Let me know if I missed something!
Geoff, I was your age when these first came out. Had I known what fun they were I would have gotten one then. Then again, I appreciate a lot of things more now. Like the joy of working until they lower me in the ground!
Later. Ringo
April 24, 2009 at 10:27 am #237173Maybe we should post our birthdays on the little info line that’s at the bottom of our posts? Males only of course!
I won’t say how old I am, but unlike Bill Collins, fire had already been discovered…not sure about the wheel though
Keep learning Geoff…from young and old alike. When you stop learning, you might as well get the proverbial dirt blanket.
April 24, 2009 at 11:13 am #237174All,
I’ve been quiet about this age thing until now. I won’t tell the date but I was just entering the “terrible two” stage when Ringo and James showed up.
And Geoff, as the saying goes, “I have shirts that are older than you”!
On the other hand, I have recently achieved “TD Replica Stud” status, so I have that going for me
Ringo, hurry up and fix something else and take some more pictures so we can get off this age topic.
Rich
