It’s coming up on the time to send in our contributions to keep the site up and running. Last I heard Frankie D was no longer at the address in Ill. I notice he has not deleted the scammers in some time.I know that we do not want the site to dissappear, but does anyone know how to contact him or is there some other way to keep the site going ? It would be great if we really did have 3150 ”real” members but it’s obvious that most of the names are not TD Replica owners or fans of the cars , but are just using the site to promote their somewhat less than honorable interests. What are our options?
October 1, 2010 at 11:24 am #242425I’ve contributed to other sites so let me know where to go with some cash and what is generally considered an acceptable amount.
October 1, 2010 at 12:05 pm #242426Thanks for the update on Frankie, Larry. I’ll chip in again, but I wonder if Frankie is ready to pass the reins to someone more active on the forum.
October 1, 2010 at 12:07 pm #242427Yeah…What RobBaker said. Count me in too.

"If one thing matters, everything matters" - from the book The ShackOctober 1, 2010 at 2:35 pm #242428I have written to FrankieD many times in recent months. I have yet to receive a reply.
He gave Mark (pinkmg) and me access to edit and delete posts. But Frank has said all along that only he can manage content or delete members.
I recall the annual hosting fees are around $100 to $150. The best way to donate used to be via PayPal. But the donate button in in the left pane leads to a dead PayPal page now.
I would not send checks to the Belleville IL address. I believe Frank moved. I will send Frank a snail mail to the Belleville address and see what I get back.
There is no recommended contribution. Let your conscience be your guide.
As Larry pointed out, our registration page has been hit by hundreds of automated user registrations. Thankfully, we have had very few spam posts. And Mark or I delete them pretty quickly; so quickly many of you may never see them.
I will let everyone know if I “find” Frank

October 1, 2010 at 6:30 pm #242429Thanks Paul, I’m glad you are working on it. I did not intend to imply any slackness concerning how anyone is fulfulling their duties here. Hope you can get in touch with FrankieD in time to keep the site up and running. A LARGE amount of information is assembled in the posts ,it would be a great loss if it got gone or was no longer accessable.

October 4, 2010 at 9:39 am #242432I will definitely contribute to keep the site open. This is one of the reasons I bought my MG replica. The help from everyone is invaluable.
October 4, 2010 at 3:50 pm #242433I will be very happy to do my part. I would be lost with out this site. Just let me know were to send it.
October 6, 2010 at 1:29 pm #242434Last I heard, Frank was in Texas and unemployed. He is retired from the Army, so maybe he at least has an income from that.
I too have sent him several e-mails and get no repsonses. I wish we could find out who hosts the website to determine if we could pay them directly and also find out how to delete the thousands of spammers.
I guess Paul’s method will produce a result…keep your fingers crossed

October 6, 2010 at 7:52 pm #242435I also tried Emails and see that the Paypal is not working.. GEEZ and just when I was going to post some of my left over stuff from angelica. And list for sale some Manuals that are collecting dust here,
I’ll never at my age get another MGTD (Can’t fit in them anyhow any more ) And will hate to have to eat the rest of the Badges if the site goes down..
October 7, 2010 at 2:10 pm #242436Bill…we’re going to save the site somehow. Have Faith

October 7, 2010 at 9:32 pm #242439Houston, we have a problem.
This site is run by Monkeytechsolutions in Fort Walton. They have vanished off the radar or have changed names. The trail has gone cold for now. We don’t really know at this point. It is not hosted by Monkeytechsolutions, but somehow run thru or by them.
Paul or Bill, do you know Jeff Devine?JasCochran40458.9271990741
October 7, 2010 at 10:03 pm #242440I’ve been through this a few times with a couple busines ventures, a good webmaster will guide you all through it. If you want my 2 cents some of you have my number. I’m on the side and if you need any help let me know.

October 8, 2010 at 1:57 pm #242442Any one have any idea how much space or traffic the site requires. I have alot of web space I pay for every year and use very little of it. If I have enough I would be happy to donate. We may need some expert help with the migration though as I am not a web master. Other wise I would be happy to kick in to keep her going .
Just a thought
WillOctober 8, 2010 at 3:35 pm #242443Guys,
The bottom line is that NONE of us has the rights to the site, it’s content or the hosting service. Nor do we have admin rights to modify said content.
Frank Devine handled all of that.
I have written to him and his last known address. We’ll see what happens with that.
I will also write to Jeff Devine (one might assume he is a relative ) and see if he can help us out.

October 8, 2010 at 7:19 pm #242444Paul is right. We can offer to host, but it belongs to others. We do have the Yahoo group that is related to this site in the event we have an interruption of this one. Since Jeff is on the ownership paperwork he would have been notified that it is due for renewal and would or will do something. I administer our company website, and they notify and notify up to the last minute.
