A “new” kit on eBay starting at $3,400:

I don’t know, and he doesn’t say, whether it is a front engined kit or for a VW.   Looks to be complete.  Fun project.

That looks to be a London Roadster from the added hump on the running board to clear the VW rear torsion tube covers. But that’s just from looking at the photos and our model comparrison listing. Nice kit and I like the shape of the seatback foam. I should copy that picture so I can give it to the guys cutting the foam for my seat cushions and seatback.

Allen, I believe that all Daytona’s, London Roadsters and some of the early Fiberfabs had that “bump” for the torsion tubes.  I think that the bump gives it away as a VW kit.  Even though the factory photos show a shortened radiator, the radiator in his photo seems to have a full sized which rules out Daytonas.  I think that this is an early Fiberfab kit for VW.

Looking at the posting again, the red car is a photo of a TD and not the kit for sale. The kit for sale is green and in the write up the seller states it is a Fiberfab kit. The photo of the paperwork says something is good until January 31, 1991. I would say that lump is not actually on the rear fenders or running boards as the kit matches exactly what I have. I notice what is NOT in the photo is the wiring harness. That’s probably under the table. The only thing my kit was missing besides the foam, wiring harness and MSO Certificate was the Fiberfab data plate. I’d get one made without the Fiberfab logo if I had a sample.

    Allen.

I can make you a template of the foam if you need it.  Might not be as good as yours, but if it helps…

“How do you install parts that are NOT rusty?”  you ask. I know! I know!You……..wait for it………sand them until they’re not rusty and then install them and paint them with POR-15. LOL  Worked for my chassis parts at least.

If it matters to anyone, the kit is for a VW.

There’s no way that fiberglass body section will accommodate a front engine car.

The kit is a FiberFab, that’s clear from the paperwork.

The seller included pictures of two completed cars, neither of which is the kit that is for sale. The red car has the torsion tube bumps in front of the rear fenders. And the green car has the shortened front grill.

And for what it’s worth, the video is from Classic Roadsters Ltd., not FiberFab. The cars on the cover of the video tape are the Sebring MX and the Marlene, both of which were Classic Roadsters Ltd. products.

Hi all I just bought this kit. Haven’t taken delivery yet but soon I hope. Have 1968 chassis and 71 1600 engine. Any tips will be appreciated, especially concerning camber reduction or any other suspension management that will keep it stable. Thanks in advance.
