    @mrlmd

    And where do you get the hoses that go from the heater boxes through the back fiberglass to under the seats, and the plastic fittings on the ends?

    Here are a few of the places I use:  (but this is no endorsement…)

    Stock VW engines used paper wrapped hoses.  Most folks use the aluminum hoses (due to moisture damage (and of course oil damage) with the paper hoses.  BOTH types of hoses can be purchased at the local AutoZone or Napa.  They are called “preheat” hoses…

    I have no experiance with the plastic hoses, but I bet they might clean up better if you have an oily engine compartment.

    These are the tubes that go from the heat box to the chassis of a Beetle… Have not gotten this far on my car, so I have no idea of they are long enough…

    I buy VW parts ALL the time.  there are many differend suppliers with a VERY wide range of quality and prices!!!  Just remember… You get what you pay for, I find that it is better to pay a few $$ more the first time than to have to buy it twice!
