A VW Type 1 engine, dressed, displaces 1600cc, weighs about 265 lbs and makes about 60 horsepower.

The block for this new engine weighs 50 lbs. I’m guessing it will be about 140 lbs dressed. It displaces 1000cc and makes 123 horsepower.

Is this a 4 stroke?  I guess it is.  Here is what I think is amazing:

“produces 90 percent of its maximum torque at a relatively low 1,500 r.p.m.”

I understand MINI will be using a 3 cyl in 2014 along with the BMW 1. Projections are 50 hp per cyl. Each cyl 50cc. Modular engine based on their current straight 6. … 150 hp 1.5 3, 200 hp 2.0 4 etc.
