I am looking at putting the half moon Hubcaps on the “Green Machine”. I am thinking I want to paint the rims silver rather than black, unless someone can talk me out of it. But more important has anyone also put on beauty rings with the moons? Do you have any pics of what the car looks like with rings and maybe without? You see, I am a GM muscle guy and everything looks better with Corvette Rallies!!!! Habit I guess.
Chime in folks!! Opinions are like *ssholes and Harley’s…….seems like everybody has one!!

Sorry. Can’t help you. I’m a Mopar guy.Actually…I’m with you on the silver wheels. That’s the original TD look too.Moss Motors part #220-560I have silver wheels, with VW caps:I think Will has chrome wheels with chrome caps. But the look is similar to what you would have with trim rings:Dennis has black wheels with chrome caps and trim rings:Paul Mossberg

August 29, 2013 at 2:40 pm #257532My car is British green when I got it the rims were black with baby moons and MG centers that you can buy on line .After looking at lots of cars I decided to paint the rims silver.I then took the MG centers and got out the artist brush and changed the background of the centers from red to green. just a little info. You can get forest green paint at most hardwares that’s a close match.
August 29, 2013 at 4:44 pm #257533I painted mine silver also. You can get the silver wheel paint at Wal Mart, Advance Auto, Auto Zone, etc for $7.95/can if memory serves me right.

August 29, 2013 at 8:00 pm #257534I think I will repaint silver and get the half moon’s from MG Magic to start.
I think that with the chrome beauty rings it may be too much shine to draw your attention away form the chrome on the car body its self.
August 29, 2013 at 8:59 pm #257535Silver looks good, with rings or not. The original MG color was more gray than silver–if anyone cares.
I went from silver to black & like the look. Took the trim rings off after Carlisle and like it even better that way. To each his own.August 30, 2013 at 7:09 am #257536yeah, I noticed on the link Paul posted that they list is as Silver-Gray. And my paint shop already has the paint code.
I’m going to get the caps on the way today and shoot the wheels over the weekend.
