Spent the weekend in FL at the Pasco County FL Bug Jam in Dade City, FL. 625 VWs of all types and conditions. Only saw one TDr, a white one. Had several other kit cars including an Apha Romeo. And it was packed…over 5,000 folks in attendance. I got a free beer for being a Vet and scored some needed parts. Found a guy who cuts VW key blanks. Brought my ignition cylinder with me and he took the code and cut me two keys. I already had two key blanks so it only cost me $10 for him to cut them. I have been minus 1 screw for my turn signal switch since forever and got that for .25 cents, Then scored 4 new stock 4-lug VW rims for $60 a rim. All in all Linda and I had a great time. And the weather was actually hot. Looking to going there again next year. May even attend the Saturday “Bully Brigade.” Oh! They had the motorcycle dirt track open for any VWs that wanted to give it a run. That was way cooler than snot on a door knob. Perhaps next year the club can give the Bug Jam a try. It’d be cool to caravan a number of our TDs there. Something to think about.
