Rocky, What they said. I would also add that if you intended on replacing some wires, since you have already removed the sheathing, replace the entire run. For example, rather than splicing, replace the entire wire from fuse block to headlight switch, etc.

Rocky, I would suggest doing as Ed says. But, I would be very careful to make sure and clean and/or replace every one of the grounds. Starting at the battery. These have a way of getting overlooked. And bigger stranded wire (smaller gauge) is always better. If your gas gauge or oil pressure (etc) gauge bounces in syncopation with your turn…[Read more]

Ed,VERY NICE back yard. I can see how that would distract you from any other hobby. I appreciate your input. I plan on replacing the fuse block so we can start anew but, as you said, if it ain’t broke (and I can prove it) there’s no sense in messing with it.I’ll see what others have to say but I think this is my plan.

When I pulled out Bridget’s interior & had a look at the
loom/harness I did most of what you’re doing. Ended up replacing one big
wire with a melted insulator, most of the wire ends, added a couple
line fuses and called it good.In my case it isn’t, really, because I left the old fusebox in place. So
now at regular intervals I’ll see things like…[Read more] -

That’s about the nicest TD replica I’ve ever seen. Very authentic looking and really, really clean. If it runs near as good as it looks it should be worth quite a bit more than your average one. Here’s the thing with values. When everyday people see these cars on the street they think they’re $100,000 items. But car guys (our target market), shaped…[Read more]

Dick, Remember it’s a British Coach Works and they are harder to find than some of the other brands. Unless you are in a big hurry to sell it, I’d try to hold out for something close to Ed’s ”upper value limit” figure. You just need to find the right buyer . I hate to see you give up on it ,would reall look good with those wire wheels you were…[Read more]

OK, we’re back.We totally could have used a stop watch (or any watch) but for newbies I think we did OK.No rain, no crashes. And we raced this Viper for a bit. (You should’ve seen the time he had staying under 20 mph in some of the tight twisties!)
Took a bit longer than we expected. Nice picnic at Dejon Vineyard starting around 3 or so.
We ran…[Read more] -

I started it in 1986, first registration with State of Illinois was in 1987. Building took just a little over a year. In 2001 I dissembled body, painted each piece Dodge Viper Red epoxy paint with clear coat and reassembled. Painting was driven by small accident I had which slightly damaged left front fender. Fender needed to be painted to cov…[Read more]
