Ed, My MiGi has no door pockets at all and I desperately need some interior “put” space.  Could you include a pic of your completed and finished door?  I am also thinking of putting a glove box in the dash.

JC Witnney and others have a stick on heat shield that goes up to about 2000
degrees F that you can stick to your fiberglass between the glass and the
muffler – should help – did mine.

And there it is!You guys are more than kind with your compliments.  But I think I’m driven more by obsessiveness, fear, and paranoia more than anything else.  None the less, I’m really enjoying myself and the time with my kids.At least now, if it breaks down during my route 66 trip I’ll only have myself to blame.Now…on to the engine.

I’ll second Ed’s assessment. In fact, I’ll put your rebuild right up there with Calafer’s — just awe-inspiring.

wow. Impressive work. I would totally have stopped & put the transmission back together after finding clean fluid. Then when it didn’t work later I’d think that was an error in my reassembly.You, on the other hand, are a real mechanic.

The wheels look great Mark. I had forgot how clean  a smoothie on a chrome wheel looks. I had the same set up minus the Mg logo on a 68 Camero when I still had the teen in my age. I wouldnt mind seeing a photo of your car with the wheels showing.

Mid America and CIP1 are two places I know of that sell the rubber pieces for the heater boxes that connect into the body. They also sell the little rubber boots that go over the heater box cable ends. Workign on it right now

I put on the empi muffler and love the sound but it hit the trunk lid. After
a short time the fiberglass started to melt. I don’t know if my Daytona
mini is different enough that this muffler will not work but I am open to
ideas.

I installed a gas heater from wabasco made for semi sleepers. It is
about 12inches by 6 by 6 inches. I put under the hood in front of the
gas tank. It puts out great heat quick and not dependent on the motor
running.
