I really don’t want to derail this thread, but newkitman, is this the muffler you are referring to? http://www.eurosportacc.com/eurosport_performance_exhaust_a udivw_mk5_volkswagen.htmIf this doesn’t post as a live link, can someone let me know how to insert links into postings? I’ve tried to use the “Add Hyperlink” button, but it doesn’t do…[Read more]

Never heard of the Marshall Classcs but it sure is a looker. But I’m with MGLR. I love the sound of the VW engine with a Euro Sport muffler and the sleek styling of the TD. BUT…I do like that 3rd brake light up in the back. A possibility for our TDs.

not to hard to add a badge bar .. It’s nothing but a boat hatch grap handle .
goto your local boat store . And ask for Hatch Grab handles , Install it
between the fenders in front of the grill.. Then order the Badge -

Wow, with air bags and modern safety equipment, I’d jump at this if I had the spare change. But for me, an old VW engine and the styling are what hooked me. Sure, if mine had air conditioning and an automatic roof, then why would I need my Honda S2000? Oh yeah, 9,000 RPM red line, 6-speed transmission, great modern design, but I love the ol…[Read more]

The Moss Motors offering won’t work for me. I don’t have the same kind of bumper attachment.I looked at one tire step and the weight limit was only 150 pounds. That might be OK for a few pieces of luggage, but if I wanted to use it for my van, I would be too heavy for that rack, and it was priced over $57.00 not including shipping. “…[Read more]

I don’t have a badge bar, but there are two badges on my grill. They must be screwed in from behind somewhere. When I get some funds together again, I think I’ll need a badge to thank everyone who’s helped me so far.

Man, the spam is getting worse and worse.
Ya’ll never really see it, but we have always been hit by auto-registration programs that add fictitious members. That is fairly easy to deal with, as there is an admin tool to batch delete members that have never made a post.
But lately, as I’m sure you have noticed, there have been dozens and dozens o…[Read more] -

Bill, Thanks for the link to the gauge repair article. The odometer on my London Roadster recently stopped working and having had the same problem on a previous car with a VDO speedometer,I knew what the problem was without pulling the gauge. I managed to get the odometer working but the unit locked up shortly after I sold the car. With the help…[Read more]

Thanks for the information and photos, Ricardo, and for showing the more timid among us that it really is possible to do this stuff ourselves.
Two questions: Is there a gasket under that gauge glass? And if so, where did you obtain a replacement?
Again — great job! -

I’ve never cared for the “patented furniture” tag. I usually tell people that MP stands for Motriz Prazer, which is Portuguese — the language of Brazil — for “Driving Pleasure.”

I’ve been thinking about doing that. Don’t know about the other models but my e-brake is way under the dash and I have to lean way over to reach it. In it’s present location we should refer to it as a parking brake cause in an emergency you’d never reach it in time.
Anyway, moving mine to between the seats would pose a problem cause my seat frame…[Read more] -

Mine’s the second link. Works nice, makes the car much safer and it looks much more authentic as well–best change I’ve made so far and not really very hard to do. I recommend everyone do it.

Had a new muffler put on yesterday. I went with the recommendations of this forum and installed the EMPI 3487. The difference in the noise output was phenomenal (night and day difference) When I first got the FF it had a muffler that looked like it had been brazed on a half dozen times and very loud. At the time I changed it with a 4 tip exhaust…[Read more]
