Does that mean that you didn’t want to hear about the sign? Sorry.
Nice steering wheel.
How about a “Lucas – Prince of Darkness pin”? $6.95 from Moss.
Having owned a 1967 Land Rover I can attest to the fact that Lucas invented the intermittent wiper.

I just bought a sign to go with the beautiful grill badge.
On Amazon for $19.95 + $7 shipping.
If I buy enough accessories can a car be far behind?

I too did the drum and bugle corps thing (waaaaaay back in the 60s) and won’t be able to make it. Work prevails and I must go to the left coast during that time period.

As a former band geek (and drum & bugle corpsman, for those initiates of the truly obscure), I salute you & your priorities, sadly. So who’s in?

Paul,
I’ve been deleting the topics as I find them. However, I do not have the admin access to delete their user ID’s or I’d be helping you with this problem.

How dare you conflict with the high school football season!
This sounds like a fun day Ed. I hope you get a great turnout!
My daughter is drum major of her high school marching band. All my fall Saturdays are dedicated to her! I’ll be with you in spirit, but not in my car. -

Who is good for Saturday, September 24?Let me know if you can–or can’t–make it.I am currently plotting a 20-mile country cruise to go along with. Thinking we could meet late afternoon at a park and drive the back roads for about 45 minutes to Stoney’s. The roads around there are pretty nice.If we get more than two or three I’ll call Stoney ahead…[Read more]

It’s available on the modern MG TF.
You have to make one yourself for your car. -

I removed the small leaves and cut the beam and welded in adjusters top and bottom. This not only softened up the ride but lowered the front closing the gap between the fenders and tires. I like a slight rake downward in the front.

Just to pass along the FiberFab and CMC FiberFab kit info. Neither kit mentions anything about adding ballast. Both however do talk cutting the front beam, turn it and re-weld it. Removing the large and small springs is way easier.

To NewKit: Yes. Stock front sway bar. ’69 pan. There is no provision or recommendation for ballast in the BCW car. I believe the thread(s) about the adjustable beam address the ballast question in the negative. Or at least Mark (PinkMG) does. Bridget’s troubles were related to the over-stiff front sprong rate and the ancient tires, both cured now.…[Read more]

This is a safety question.
Do all VW based kit manufacturers specify weight and location of ballast?
Does everyone have the appropriate amount of ballast in their cars?

For what it’s worth…Classic Roadsters Ltd. recommended adding weight to the front end.Behind the grill, there is a fiberglass box that the builder fills with 140 pounds of sand, then seals the top. It is all under the carpeting when the trunk is finished. They also recommended adding more ballast on the floor pan under the trunk floor, in front…[Read more]

Yup. Oversteer. I’m talking about a stock Bug. The VW TDs may have unloaded the front end so that there isn’t enough traction to induce oversteer at road speeds. That may be why there isn’t a thread on sway bars. The front end plows before the rear end jacks up.
Suspension geometry can do a lot to minimize oversteer at low speed. But there w…[Read more] - Load More
