Allen, I may have a lead on a running sand rail up here in Dayton. Last I heard he wanted 1500 for it. All I remember is it had a 1600 duel port engine. Let me know if you want me to check it further. Montie

It was listed in the Samba but is no longer there. Either someone bought it or the owner just gave up on selling it. Sorry about that. It had a dark blue body, was in a garage and was located within 500 miles from 31008. That’s how I’ve hunted for the chassis I need. Got a good 71 donor car.

Most of the VW crowd on thesamba.com won’t use Mid-America for good OEM VW stuff. I had an experience with them that made me nix them from my VW parts vendor list. They aren’t well liked by the VW crowd.
TRY TO BUY GERMAN MADE REPLACEMENT PARTS…it’s worth the extra $$.

The measurements for the Fiberfab are here.
This may give you an idea of the size relative to your replica. This frame mounts to the inside and not on top of the tub. -

Long shot but do you still know where the RH drive chassis is? I would love a challenge!

i had the same problem with rusted pedal assembly except i had the plunger rod . you have two issues (atleast) you have to make a new rod.maybe a forum member will have an extra, or relocate the master cylinder at the pedals with a fabricated mount and a stock plunger..(appletreeauto.com)(part #5559)this requires new brake lines. your next i…[Read more]

Since it’s said to be a 74 (IRS) chassis you’ll need a dual circuit master cylinder. You should see two electrical plugs, two blue colored brake resevoir hoses and three metal brake tubes where the master cylinder would be if it were there. All the brake parts can be purchased at Mid America Motorworks, CIP1, Bughaus and a few others. I’d stay…[Read more]

There are different ways but the easiest is to check the photo gallery up top and look for a car like yours. ALSO, PMossberg and I believe Edsnova are working the differences between the kits on another thread. A photo of yours will help to as I’m sure many members will beable to tell you. I have a CMC Fiberfab and am new to the TD kit cars. Been…[Read more]

British Coach Works Model 52

Seen those snaps before, and I am pretty sure I saw the car featured on a Top Gear episode a while back. (British version). The bit wasn’t about that car, but the car was used to get from place to place for the bit.
