Swapping to front disc brakes (dropped or stick spindles) also increases the track width by about 2″ overall.

I bought adjusters at the beetle shop cut the top and bottom of the beam and welded them in. I also took some of the other guys advice here on the site and removed 4 of the half leaves, it rides real nice. Definately not a real TD.  Fiberglas all the way!

Rear quarter windows also add a touch of visibility when cruising in the rain. It happens.

The BCW front engine car was a Chevette based, I think. The hood hinged in the middle but the side piece of the hood stayed put–they weren’t hinged to the top pieces as in the original TD. More like a TF design.

Do you need the top material only or do you need the whole assembly? I was directed towards MG Magic in Hollywood FL. Give them a try they may have what you need.
