There is a guy in FL who is selling his kit on the Samba for 850 OBO. But his has been sitting outside for a couple of years and will need to be restored. Just letting you know of one price. His car is white like yours and does NOT have a top.

Junkman, Another member recently bought a nice ,complete ,running TD replica for $3500. I have not seen one sell for over $5000.in quite a while. Still another member got a new ,never assembled kit still in the boxes for less than $500. So the prices are all over the place.
From your previous posts and pictures it appears that your car needs a…[Read more] -

Swapping to front disc brakes (dropped or stick spindles) also increases the track width by about 2″ overall.
That’s why guys that drop their stock Beetles and install disc brakes usually run a narrowed beam…otherwise you get tire rub.
The front disc brake kits that are out there are mostly Chinese junk. Be very careful of what you buy. Most…[Read more] -

I bought adjusters at the beetle shop cut the top and bottom of the beam and welded them in. I also took some of the other guys advice here on the site and removed 4 of the half leaves, it rides real nice. If you can weld you will be out around 60 bucks as opposed to an adjustable beam which I believe are around 275. of course I had a whole day of…[Read more]

I have the cut and weld lowering on my fiberfab MiGi. I’ve made some adjustments to deal with the ride height as it came to me. It looks and rides good now. But…
If I were to start from scratch I would put in adjusters, get the narrowed front beam, remove some leaves and put on dropped spindles (Might as well do disc brakes while you are at…[Read more] -

Rear quarter windows also add a touch of visibility when cruising in the rain. It happens.

The BCW front engine car was a Chevette based, I think. The hood hinged in the middle but the side piece of the hood stayed put–they weren’t hinged to the top pieces as in the original TD. More like a TF design.

Do you need the top material only or do you need the whole assembly? I was directed towards MG Magic in Hollywood FL. Give them a try they may have what you need.

Dbrock, You say that you are looking at a TD. Is it steel or fiberglass? If it’s steel. it sounds like a MG that has had a Ford engine and trans swapped in to it.
British Coach Works is the only replica with the hood split down the center ,,, Wait a miniute, Seems like I remember seeing a few Classic Roadster Duchess cars with hoods like you…[Read more] -

So yours are NOT “Aoogah” horns. I think the ones at MG Magic are. May leave those off the list for the moment. I’ll have a look see at Harbor Freight tomorrow morning. Thanks guys.
