Blu2u. Again may I say welcome to the forum. I to recommend the Samba site for VW info.
Off the top of my head ,the only overseas kit producer was MPLafer. Look in the photo gallery under BrasilUSA and see if your car looks like the one in the picture. Notice that the doors are hinged at the front instead of at the rear as all other MG re…[Read more] -

Blu2U,Welcome to the forum. By the engine number you listed (it was taken from the base of the generator stand hopefully) it is a 1968/1969, 1500CC Single port engine. Here’s a good web site to help out with the VW data:http://www.thesamba.com/vw/archives/info/engine_letters.phpAnd whilew you’re at it, please enter you car in the registry.

I use a link to Photobucket for the registry graphics. Works great. It’s free [don’t hear that word very often]. Photobucket takes on the file space keeping this site free from that burden. In Photobucket use the ‘direct share’ link option, copy the code to the clipboard, then in this site when you use the tree button, paste the link there. The…[Read more]

You might be able to post them. The “tree-uparrow” button on the far right hand side of the top row above the “Post Reply” window that opens when you reply to any post here will open a box with instructions titled “image upload.” click “browse” and go to the picture on your computer, click that and it should load to the site. The caveat: it has to…[Read more]

Interesting trip back from Dr. Clock’s Speedster (etc.) Pumpkin Run.The good news? 1. amazing weather2. Brakes work3. No mishaps4. holy crap! Bridget is a full 20…[Read more]

I agree with your first guess. Trace all those grounds and make sure they are clean and tight. After that I would go after the power supply lines, from fuse box to each device, maybe something is tapped in after the fuse box. Those two will keep you busy for a while.

Junkman,You can go to the download manuals page and read through the body assembly instructions. That will give you a good idea how to “reverse” the process.

Paul is right. We can offer to host, but it belongs to others. We do have the Yahoo group that is related to this site in the event we have an interruption of this one. Since Jeff is on the ownership paperwork he would have been notified that it is due for renewal and would or will do something. I administer our company website, and they notify…[Read more]

Guys,
The bottom line is that NONE of us has the rights to the site, it’s content or the hosting service. Nor do we have admin rights to modify said content.
Frank Devine handled all of that.
I have written to him and his last known address. We’ll see what happens with that.
I will also write to Jeff Devine (one might assume he is a relative) a…[Read more]

Any one have any idea how much space or traffic the site requires. I have alot of web space I pay for every year and use very little of it. If I have enough I would be happy to donate. We may need some expert help with the migration though as I am not a web master. Other wise I would be happy to kick in to keep her going .Just a thought Will
