Thanks everyone for all the responses.Mike the info you posted will help me when I fill out the data tag which, sadly, I did not get with the kit.Dan I didn’t get a pan/chassis with the kit. It was new, still wrapped, and had a lot of boxes. I’m keeping an eye out for a good chassis/pan in the middle Georgia area. Still need to contact the sell to…[Read more]

Not too long ago the Fiberfab web page had an area for ordering a new brass plate.   I would call them to see if they still have some —
The President of the new Fiberfab is very helpful — but does not have old records and can not replace MSOs.

  • Just a comment on newkitman’s postClassic Roadsters manuals are NOT in teh Download Manuals section yet.I need FrankieD to do that.If you want a copy, send me a private message.Actually, I believe a combination of PinkMG’s suspension softening and some ballast provides the best handling car. Without a couple hundred pounds over the front axle, the…[Read more]

I had same problem and ordered new boots, they are still in box, the 5mm vinyl tape has worked fine. Hope to change in the winter. Might even clean engine.

If I were you I’d get PN 408-580 (item 75) on this page and put my serial number and Fiberfab MFG ID on that.

  •  Allen,    I searched for the Georgia DMV and their official website has tons of information about requirements ,forms, etc. If I’m seeing correctly , they do not title vehicles older than 1986. The forms have a blank for a vin# and I seem to remember them asking for a MSO as well. I’m thinking that you are going to need a bill of sale and per…[Read more]

Newkitman,  just saw your post. I have a fiberfab and Paul was right about that number being the serial number. I have a brass tag about 3 x 4 inches on mine mounted to the dash by the original builder. I suspect it should have been mounted to the firewall. The tag reads:  MD TD REPLICA…Fiberfab International …. Minneapolis MN….then the…[Read more]

I am headed to a hot rod / car show in Bartlett, TN this evening. It usually has a couple of Cobras (replica), a dozen classic Mustangs, a couple dozen hot rods of various ages, lots of Chevy’s, Corvettes and Corvairs. Last Thursday there was over 100 cars. I am yet to take my MGTD replica to the weekly event, it would be the only one there. There…[Read more]

Love to see pics of this part.

  • I think you’re going to want to omit the ballast box. It’s only there to wieght-up the front end and make up for a bad design element in the original kits. The problem: TD Replicas remove about 300 lbs from the front suspension, owing to the lighter body and the rearward shift in weight distribution. Most of these kits account for that by lowering…[Read more]

    That’s a great pic, Roy

I have a mustang and go to a lot of car shows here in AZ. Always love seeing
the cobra guys out there. Always wanted to get a yellow cobra kit, maybe
someday, if I can get a deal as good as I got on my MGTD

Those Cobras are awesome. But when there’s 20 of them and only one of us, we win–split the vote.

  • Paul,
Just wanted to say thank you for putting your Classic Roadster’s Duchess Assembly Manual in the Download Section.
For those who haven’t taken a look at the manuals in that section, the Classic Roadster’s manual is far and away the best of those listed.
After going through all of them I have noted some small differences here and there b…[Read more]
