Have you gone to the local autozone store to see if they have a rental tool or borrow tool for this effort.

Nothing like running cooler…glad it worked. You made a great selection and I found a great vendor at Doghouse. Phil is a great help and the prices make it worth the 5 day wait on the cross continent shipping. So, thanks to you Rollie

Hi, ” pink mg ” is correct, I installed the #3487. He is correct again in that #3487 allows you to retain the heat tubes. I have about 1500 miles on it, and think it is perfect. I can hear conversation at 60 mph, but if I give it the gas, it has a nice sound. It really doesn’t sound much like a VW eather. The big advantage is the lower operating…[Read more]

Coffey, I have an 8″ Ford rear that came from Pinto wagon. All V6/V8 powered Mustang II’s, Pintos and Bobcats came with this rear.
This rear was designed in 1960 for use in Ford Fairlane and is sometimes referred to as the “Baby 9 inch”. It is a pumpkin style rear, the gear set comes out the front of the carrier.
If your car has the little 6.75…[Read more] -

It was the BCW that now belongs to Larry Murphy. I bought those wheels from US Wheel. They are 14″ direct bolt to the Chevette. A Chevette, the first totally metric car produced in US factories, used a 13″ wheel. The bolt pattern was 4 x 100mm.
Not sure if US Wheel still makes a RWD application steel wheel for that bolt pattern. Many FWD drive…[Read more] -

Paul,You’re right. I confused Bill’s car with another. Now I can’t remember the other car since I had it in my mind that it was Bill’s
. I assume the original MGTD steel wheels were four lug, perhaps the measurements could work, but probably not. I don’t recall ever seeing an original TD without the hubcaps.James

Tom, he installed the #3487 (single outlet tip)
I installed the #3418 ceramic coated on my ’74 Beetle and lost the flexible heater tubes that go from the doghouse to the heater boxes. Looks like #3487, #3417 do not have this problem.Pink MG40114.5631481481 - Load More
