Bill, most MG replicas use VW wipers. Measure the distance between the shafts on your MG and the shafts on the VW and if the distance is the same ,the one on your parts car should work.I recently got a complete set of arms and blades from Orielly Auto that included adapters for both types you described for under $40. Hope this helps.

Dennis Brock replied to the topic steering loosness in the forum VW Based Kits 15 years, 12 months ago
Finally got the steering straightened out. All that it took was new steering couplers and an adjustment oof the steering box. (Of course I had to take off the panel in front of the grill between the front fenders!) Rusty fasteners and bolts that were too long made that a challenge. Driving it almost daily now in decent weather.

Mel,
I can picture the early morning ride. My favorite times are early AM and just before dark in the evening. It’s great to hear others comments. My wife still thinks I’m nuts (she could be right) because I enjoy just riding the back roads to nowwhere. Some people just don’t understand. Here’s to those who do!

Guys:
Thanks for the kind words, I drove her to the gas station at dawn this morning, the sun just started to come up. The drive in the cool morning air was so relaxing and enjoyable.
December will come but not soon enough.
I will store her later today and leave Florida at Dawn tomorrow.

Thanks guys. I was very fortunate to have been able to be at his bedside when he took his last breath and talking to him. Not many people have this opportunity to say goodbye to someone so special in their life. He really liked the MGTD and enjoyed riding in it.

DanIf you have the boat type top that came with the kit,or the kit wind shield you may not be able to install them. Most of the items can be found at Speed Way motors.A motor, arm, and blade is $29.99,the catalog also has wind shields and other goody’s in it.Good luck. Bill

Mel. I know you hate to leave her behind. Time seems to fly when you are doing something you enjoy. Hang on to the young driver’s comment for encouragement while you are away.

Paul Mossberg replied to the topic Year of doner car? in the forum VW Based Kits 15 years, 12 months ago
The number stamped into the pan is the VIN for the donor car. Once you find the VIN on your chassis, here is a VW Type 1 VIN Decoder table:

on the top of the tunnel, under the seat, ,in front of the shifter coupler cover plate, should be some numbers stamped into that area. That will be for the pan/frame, but vws are so interchangeable, it will not confirm yrs of the engine or the tranny. Hope that helps~

Hi,
False advertising or not, I still like the look of the original MG emblem. By the way, FiberFab gave the buyer a choice of the FF or Original MG emblem when you bought a kit.

I ended up putting an MG emblem on it. Believe it or not, I got it from Moss Motors cheaper than they were listed on EBAY. I still would like to find a Fiberfab grill emblem if anyone knows of one. Not available from MG Magic.

Hi, just bought a set of wirre caps on EBAY from a dealer called nationwidehubcaps. I was very pleased with the caps and the price. (roughly $60 including shipping, I think the selling price was $39)

James, I am sorry about your loss. I have been there and it can be hard to handle. The good thing about our hobby is it can be put on hold when necessary. You are in our thoughts and prayers at this difficult time.
