Paul Mossberg replied to the topic dash finish? in the forum General Discussion 17 years, 4 months ago
Hi Ringo,I’ve seen high gloss and matte. Both look great. IIve never heard the owner of a TD with a high gloss dash complain about glare. So it’s really a matter of your preference. My own is not gloss. I simply prefer that look. And that’s part of the beauty of the kit car world. They are not 100% original reproductions, so you are free to experiment.

Pink, Sunday I ordered the 1974 mustang four volumn set off ebay for about $30. Can’t wait to get my hands on the car as I know nothing about the Mustang II drive train, steering suspenstion or brakes.
Lots of things to work on to fix and improve should be a great car when I’m done.
First impressions, steering too heavy-maybe a flaming river rack…[Read more] -

The Buick is 3″ narrower (measured at the outside of the cast iron exhaust manifolds) than a 5.0L Ford.
I’ve already tried this. That’s why I decided on the Buick 3.8L/TH200R4 set up. I wanted to build a 5.0L/T-5 car, so I spent a lot of time and effort gathering data and measuring stuff.
Using anything but the little C3 automatic or 4…[Read more] -

The drive train/suspension is the same on the Pinto, Bobcat (Mercury) and Mustang II.
Check eBay for a manual…if it’s a 2.3L, then you need 1974 thru 1980 Pinto. The last Mustang II was 1978, the last Bobcat (I think) was 1979.
The 1974 up Mustang II, Pinto and Bobcat wagons were available with a 2.8L V6, the same one that came in the Capri.…[Read more] -

Jennifer:Keep in mind that you probably already have a duraspark ignition box. Its the silver box with wires going to the distributor that’s usually on the firewall. If you don’t have one then you can use an after market ignition box that will do the same thing. (Summitt has a store brand box that’s cheaper than others) Or go with the d…[Read more]

Thank you all for this great info. The drive-train is 4-speed manual and don’t worry I’m really easy on the accelerator and brake as I have the same issue with my 2005 RAV4 (which is also a Great car!)Ringo I would be grateful for the Duraspark info and Pink MG I intennd to check out Royal Purple (sounds like something bees feed to their…[Read more]

Actually, I live in Mesa Arizona. The car used to belong to my father but he recently passed it on to me! I spent many summers working on it with him, and went cruising around the Buffalo NY area every week-end by his side. I am planning on shipping it here in the next month or so. I will update the pics when I get it here. It’s already fast as…[Read more]

Hi RonS, Glad to hear about your rescue of the MIJI. Look in the Download Manuals section. I see a manual for a Fiber Fab/VW that may be very simular to your car. Hope this helps.

Steve Crites replied to the topic Wont go into Reverse in the forum Chevy/Ford Kits 17 years, 4 months ago
GeoffI haven’t had the pleasure of working on one of those. From what I’ve seen on my car and what I’ve read in the Haynes manual, it looks like you’ll have pretty much have to at least lower the rear of the tranny to access the upper tube shifter rod. So, you might as well pull it and make sure.
Sorry I couldn’t be more help.Ringo -

Hi Ringo,
The shift lever wont go further left than 1st gear. As far as the shifting on gears 1-4 it is as smooth as can be. It just all of the sudden refused to allow the shift lever to go far enough left and up in to Reverse gear. I have not tried rocking the car while trying to shift, but once the car gets delivered to me in Arizona I wi…[Read more] -

Well the inspection went well and I purchased the car. Seller needs to update the donor title but that doesn’t seem to be a problem as he has the paper trail and the previous title.
I fit fine although it’s certainly a different seating arangement, nothing I can’t get use too.
The car is a 1988 fiberfab with a ford 2.3 mustang II automatic…[Read more] - Load More
