Probably too late with this, but the suns still shining! Just finished re-wiring and seriously upgrading my FF TD. I have the duel master cylinder also, but I wired both switches in parallel so either would activate the lights. Consider this; if you wired just the rear switch and the rear brakes failed, you may not not notice the decreased p…[Read more]

New (to me) engine in, new brake lines, new clutch cable, new battery, new flor insulation, new hoses, new all kinds of things that I’ve been poking at since 2005 when the original engine came out and life put it all on hold.
The past week has been an evening of lifting, jacking, grease, oil, fuel, scrapes, scars, and banging my knuckles, but the…[Read more]

@pmossberg I had the car repainted several years back. The original got beat up by the South Florida sun over it’s first 15 years of life. The paint job isn’t perfect, there’s a bit of “orange peel” and a few defects. Nothing I can’t live with.
I like the color too 🙂
The tail lights are good and bad.

@pmossberg I have a decent page-feed scanner that could do the job. Of course, I’d have to separate all the pages, e.g. cut off any binding, to do the job.
I’ll email you the details.

Stephen,
I love your car’s color!
Are the LED taillights split between turn signal, and running/brake light?
And does your stock turn signal switch still work? Or did you have to replace it?

Stephen,
I have one. It’s huge. I have not had the time to get it scanned to PDF.
If you have access to a good scanner, I can FedEx you the entire packet. If not, I will try to get around to this!

I have been thinking and looking and it dawned on me that when sitting in the seat my knees bend way in front of the seat. That made me think I could reposition the seat forward without giving up any of the little precious little room I have. This morning I tried it and it works. Now the seat clears the seat back letting me flip it forward to get…[Read more]

Mine hit the seat back but because it’s compressible foam I can still open the hatches by plunging mu hand down in ther, grabbing the “lip” of the seat and forcing it up. A little Armor All or similar on the vinyl makes it slide nice.

I’ve been thinking about going to a junk yard and looking for a pair of bucket seats that would fit. More comfortable but don’t know how it would attach. Also finding a pair of 3 point seat belts. I think the top might fit on the convertible top bracket just behind the seat.
Regarding the storage problem, there is a lot of empty space behind…[Read more]

OK, friends, here is the new blog documenting my Spyder build.
As some of you know, I already grabbed a low-mileage, high-pedigree engine for the car: a Jake Raby-built 1915 from a Beck Special Edition. Carey Hines then went through the carbs, put in new floats, gussied it up and delivered it to the back of my pickup truck at Carlisle last…[Read more]

My FiberFab Ford has small storage space under seat bottoms. They are hinged with 2 small hinges in the front to raise from the rear. I can’t raise them because they hit the seat back. I have to remove the seat back in order to get to the little storage spaces. I thought about using 1 larger hinge in the front of seat and making the pin in the…[Read more]
