Hey Schu —
That would be 670 miles from my house to the BugFest…….
Great minds think alike — eh Vicenc? Time to Tow — maybe even take a side trip to Disney World?

Check the blog, Schubie. The wire wheels push out about an inch.

Here’s the Florida Bug Jam Web Site. They’ll post more throughout the year and add in the 2017 schedule.

Why?
Always thought you tires tucked under fine. Going with some wider wheels/tires?
I would have to add a bunch to get mine under – maybe a future project – want to push the passenger foot well area forward first.
Also the speedster project, the rolling kitchen remodel, the yard re-do, basement remodel – it never ends…
Looking forward to…[Read more]

Tow to Jack’s place and than nudge him to drive to Florida from there.

Yeah, thought of that. Getting the fenders off is a bit of a project in itself, and adding the material at the right angle (innermost bit) would have complicated the tail light bezel more than I felt comfortable doing.
The symmetry is imperfect already. I intend to improve on what’s there now. The idea is to slice them both in the same spot and…[Read more]

any concerns with changing the symmetry of the fenders and trying to get the profiles identical? Did you consider just cutting and stretching the fender where it is bolted to the body. You could have added spacers between the fender and body to determine how much additional material would be required and given the location if it was not…[Read more] -

I’m on the Happy Jack bandwagon. After that drive out to Pittsburgh a couple of years ago I’ve decided I’m towing anything over an hour.

You can do like “Happy Jack” — (or is it “WIMPY JACK”) and tow ‘er down…….
Sounds like a fun event!!

And maybe no relation between low fluid and lights, I couldn’t be sure.
I was going to take the car out today for the 2nd time this month, first yesterday. Realized no red light reflection in the chrome luggage rack when backing out of driveway. No idea about yesterday.
Fuses all okay so looked at brake pedal for a switch, not there. Checked…[Read more]

If I were you, I’d continue to use the Sedona Red because IMHO the other colors clash and look “wrong.” What you COULD do to set off the instrument panel, however, is to wrap it in plastic chrome molding like this:

That is the exact stuff that I put on the entire perimeter of my dashboard.
You could…[Read more]

I used Minwax oil based stain. After staining yesterday afternoon, I felt the instrument cluster got sort of lost in the main dash. I wanted it to stand out a little more. So I took one of the remaining two clusters (I usually make three just in case) and on the rear face applied three different stain colors. They are Minwax Gunstock, Minwax…[Read more]

Did you use a oil or water based stain? If water based how long did you let it dry before you applied the poly. As the milky discolouration was localized it probably was not the poly. My suspicion is that there was a moisture issue that caused the problem. You should be able to remove the poly with light sanding then if you have a moisture meter…[Read more]
