Gary if you could take a few pictures we might be able to help you Idenetify which td you have?
If you go into the library at the top of the page there is a quick listing of the different manufactures.

Great work, John. A lot of really nice detail. Good on you, too, for keeping those kids out in the garage instead of in the basement where they usually end up.

Does anyone know of manual(s) for the London Roadster? I cannot figure out why the oil pressure, tach and oil pressure gauges do not work. Thanks…

Tombstones? LOL, I never thought of that! They were just intended to mimic the shape of the dashboard while acting as head restraints but now that you mention it … yeah, tombstones! Maybe I should also get little skull decorations for the car, too! 😀
The “engine turned” part to the instrument panel is just an applique to an original TD…[Read more]

John. Loved the photos. I really like the look of the wide whitewalls. Plus I like the windshield post end caps as well. Excellent workmanship.

Super nice work John. I like the use of the engine turned center section of the dash…..in fact, the whole dash is darker than most – I like it. Where did you get the hinges for the glove box/radio door?
A really spectacular TDr, (except for the seat backs which look like tombstones). Please don’t take offense, I’m hard to please – I never li…[Read more]

newkitman replied to the topic Setting Gas Tank Float in the forum VW Based Kits 8 years, 7 months ago
I’ll only be shortening an 8 inch, 16AWG wire by about half so I don’t think its enough to be concerned about.

Toller replied to the topic Setting Gas Tank Float in the forum VW Based Kits 8 years, 7 months ago
The resistance of 16 AWG is .0132 ohms per metre aka 39″. Heavier gauge wire ie 14 AWG will have a lower resistance per metre

Measured the resistance of the float mechanism from empty through full. Runs from 4 ohms at empty to 12 ohms at full. Then removed the float mechanism from the mount bracket and cut the bracket to size after measuring the depth from top of float mechanism flange on tank to bottom of tank. Then installed the float mechanism and rechecked the ohms…[Read more]

I made the mistake of using a 61-67 float with the kit gauge, it doesn’t work. Someday I might replace it with a universal float but, for now, I’m using the trip odometer as a gas gauge.

Copterpilot. Check the Library Pulldown Menu on the top right. Select Manuals and that will take you to the assembly manuals. The London Roadster is the 4th one down.
Thanks for sending this, but mine is a London Roadster. Apparently there is little documentation. Sigh
