Here’s a map with the complete route for next Saturday’s cruise. http://www.mapmyride.com/routes/view/1264290082. Charlene and I just got back from doing a final run on the route and it was perfect day for it.
The total loop is 82.86 miles. Photo stops, the breakfast stop at the Goose Creek Grill and the lunch stop at the Whip Tavern are mar…[Read more]

I’ve said this before but it was a while ago, so I’ll repeat: The TDr is cooler than the Cobra replica and the Speedster replica. It’s not only rarer—a plus at any car show or on the boulevard—it’s also more pedestrian. It’s a $5,000 copy of a $15,000 car. That makes it cooler because it’s not at all about status (which, let’s be real, both the…[Read more]

I’ve noticed more guys driving soccer mom vans looking with envy, waving and giving me the thumbs up as they go by with mom and a couple of kids in the back. They also been looking over at the wife to make sure she is distracted or looking elsewhere before acknowledging the TDR. Maybe they are future recruits for the fraternity, so we have to keep…[Read more]

Yes, I know it’s tacky. I think that these were a fad in the 70’s.

I’ve always said I’ve had more Corvette drivers wave at me than they seem to wave at anyone else 😎 . Sometime I get so caught up between steering, shifting and waving, I wish I had three hands 😯 !

Hey Kentt
I’d like to do a check on the other cylinder head location temperatures, but to do that I’d have to pull the spark plugs, move the thermocouple drive and repeat — and remove the back and side fiberglass to get easy access to the plugs. But since I’d also like to get one last look at the plugs to see how rich/lean/just right they are…[Read more]

Thanks Kent. Yes, Jack’s TDr is running about as well as a TDr can run. This has been a long drawn out affair where we took our time to get to the finish line. Starting with purchase of a used spare engine, complete teardown of both Jack’s engine, and the spare. Then junking the “new” spare, installing the best of parts that were not bou…[Read more]

Sounds like you have Emma sorted out really well! Props to you and your pit crew for diligently working through all the issues! Congrats! 😂😂
Couple of side notes,:
1. Your oil temps sound really good! You are correct in that sensor location is very important. I tend to like reading temps at the sump drain plug – they don’t fluctuate as much, and…[Read more]

Finally got the Pertronix Single Vacuum, Dual Advance (SVDA) distributor installed, adjusted, and the timing set to 34 degrees Before Top Dead Center with the vacuum hose disconnected from the side of the distributor and the hose plugged.
But before I could get out of the garage for a test drive, I started to over-think the setup and questioned…[Read more]

Hey Folks,
Kentt was asking about running temperatures and performance with the new Weber center mount and the Venturi ring on the fan housing….so I plugged the Bluetooth 4.0 low power dongle into the under dash OBD II diagnostic port and used my iPhone 6 to read out the car parameters including: speed; acceleration; boost/vacuum; engine rpm;…[Read more]
