Last night I finished off a script that will run through all the posts and…- Update links to threads that appear in threads so they point to the new threads. These are mostly Pauls’s posts where he directed people to another thread for their answer. Here’s a sample that should get fixed:

I took my car to a car show on Sunday and encountered an odd problem. The situation is that it’s Las Vegas, it’s 105 outside, and it’s a 20 mile ride, almost all stoplight-to-stoplight. We drove about 3/4 of the way and then the engine started surging and lost power. I pulled over into a side street and did absolutely nothing, but the pr…[Read more]

Bill – I’m interested in the MiGi. I contacted you on craiglist, but I figured I would post here too. I’m new to this hobby, but I’ve always loved MGs. I’d love to be able to learn more, and hopefully make a deal with you. I’m located in CT, so I hope shipping is a possibility.
Let me know, thanks!

Does anyone have contact info for crash55(Bill)?
I sent a PM from here but there’s been no response. There are several possibilities using the phone book.

I have no personal experience with RetroSound, but have heard similar comments about their quality issues in other forums.
Caveat emptor I guess.
As to speaker enclosures (or baffles), that was easy. I have two six inch round speakers mounted on the rear “firewall.” They are surface mounted. I used baffles like…[Read more]

Re: “Radios were optional from most of the kit manufacturers. They are also easily added by the owner.”
Probably true if you don’t select a RetroSound. I finally got my RetroSound working, but I lost half my hair pulling it out, trying to get there. One issue with a radio is figuring out how to mount speakers. The one thing good about Ret…[Read more]

A couple of weeks ago I got a copy of a 1984 Kit Cars Buyers Guide from my buddy Glen with the Classic Factory 1936 Mercedes Benz 500K. He’s had this publication since 1984 and had used as the basis of his research to buy his car. There’s a wealth of info in there and I thought I would share it with you all. For welding floor patches I’ve had good luck with my muffler shop. They weld that gauge all day and seem to like a change of pace.

Hi Matt!
Welcome aboard!
Sounds like you are on your way to diagnosing the brake issues.
VW floor pans are available. It easiest to replace them with the body off the pan. But if you have room to work between the rusted areas and the outer channels (where the body is bolted to), it’s possible re repair them with the body in place. Welding is…[Read more]

I added ‘.ru’ this morning to the list of blocked domains. If I understand it correctly, we should not see these again.
