This story gets better every day. It’s always great to hear about one’s family members from those those who knew them. It’s also cool that there are some actual movies of your Grandpa and his car.You should see if there is some way to post them on YouTube….We’d love to see them!

We are nearly ready.I’ve got the domain transferred and am now just waiting for the “right time” to make the final copy of the site and forum data into the new system. I’m going to look at the logs and see if I can find the day/time that has the least use and try and match that up with when I have time to make a go at it. I’ll post a note here…[Read more]

We had a family reunion today on my mom’s side so I brought the briefcase along. I sat it on the table and a few family members knew immediately that they had seen it before and were super happy that I was able to buy the car.
So we spent the next hour or so looking through photo albums that my great-aunt had that had various pictures of my… -

Great find.
Looks to be a full Fiberfab brochure. There are 18 pages at the same site. The brochure covers the Fiberfab TD, ’29 Mercedes (nee Gazelle) and Speedster & Speedster Californian.I downloaded them all will try to get them into a single PDF for the web site. -

edward ericson replied to the topic Replacing Speedo Cable in the forum General Discussion 9 years, 3 months ago
There should be a tiny C-clip on the cable end that sticks out through the grease cap on the wheel. A little pick or eyeglass screwdriver will get it off. Then just pull it out from behind. The other end has a screw collar on the back of the speedometer. Order a bus cable to replace it, and squirt some liquid graphite in the sheave before installing it.

Another place is Gateway Classic Cars.http://gatewayclassiccars.com/sell-informationYou can consign your car with them. They have a showroom in Chicago. There is a number to call for information. I’m sure they would charge some sort of fee, but you would get national exposure for your car.Set your price at what you really want and add maybe 10% to…[Read more]

All fixed. I ordered a hub from Forever Sharp. I had to have it machined a bit to minimize the offset, but that was cheap and simple. Went from 6″ to 3″. Now I can get in and out without scraping my ribs. Thanks for the advice.

You may also try your local Craig’s List. I have seen several of these TDr cars for sale in the Tampa Bay Area. Prices any where from $4800 to $6800, for a quick sale. You are probably are a little low at $4800, ask your $5500, and negotiate down to a win, win price. Have you put it up for sale on Samba as well? If it driveable, I have always put…[Read more]
