Just FYI: This is the MP version, which unlike my TI looks more like the MG-TD. The main difference is the doors, which are hinged at the front edge instead of being mounted “suicide” style. The body is a single piece, with the hood, doors, mock grille shell and rear engine deck lid separate. Very thick fiberglass construction, extremely sturdy.…[Read more]

Sorry to see this post John!
But I do wish you luck with the sale!To potential buyers, you’d be getting a well sorted car here! With only minor work still to be done! -

Good looking car.
Re: the fuel filter…I hope you did not remove it. You do want a fuel filter in the line. Many VW enthusiasts recommend moving it to a spot behind the fan housing, to get it away from the heat of the engine block. -

Excellent choice on the cherry, I have an Allison where the dash is moulded right into the body with a thin wood looking laminate on top, took off the laminate and used cherry veneer plywood. It started as 1/2” but I planed it down to a 1/4”, came up really nice

Thanks for all the info. Now I just need to deside on the wood. I have so cherry wood that was cut over twenty years ago, may use that.
