My rear fenders are molded in as part of the body as well. I have never seen a fiberglass radiator shell. My shell with the molded radiator louvers is fiberglass but I have a chrome shell over top of it. I think mine is a 1978 version. I would have to check. A picture of yours would be good.

I agree the car looks great but the steering wheel has to go. I just replaced mine with a dark wood banjo style from fast five and Im happy as a pig in mud! In fact, I love the choice I made to get rid of the stock VW steering column and istall the 3/4″ chrome steering shaft from EMPI. Sorry. Tried that as well and the only thing that shows up with your name on it regarding odometer are the current posts. I even did the advanced search and still nothing. I’m not surprised. I’ve never had any luck getting the search on the site to work. Oh well.

Early Daytona kits were offered with “optional” chromed radiator shell….implying that it was optional, though I’ve never seen one without.  I would bet that if the fenders are glassed in to the tub, it was the builder that opted to do it that way since I am quite sure it wasn’t that way from the factory.
