You did a lot in one day, looks like. (And why you messing with your kitchen? Looked fine to me).
Here is my question, which if I understood geometry better I would not need to ask:If you dog-leg that clutch rod where it comes off the pedal, won’t that be pretty much the same as attaching a straight rod lower down? And would that not simply give… -

Wizard. I knew about the ground at the socket. didn’t express my question well. My Bad. What I’m wondering is where you ground the lights to the chassis/frame. My TDr has headlights, park/turn signals, fog lights, horn and fuel sender up front. Do you ground left side and right side individually or ground both sides together at one point on the…[Read more]

It’s a sad sad day for us old timers who adapted Triumph wire wheel adapters to fit VW’s 130mm bolt pattern. My MiGi just got a lot less unique. However, I’m happy for those of you who have wanted “real” British knock-off wire wheels. (I guess.)

First trial fit of a frame stiffener, as I try to get everything ready to start the POR 15 cleaning and prepping process. I want to coat the stiffeners before installing them, then topcoat once installed.First, a bottom view of the front of a stiffener. They are 1″ x 3″ tubing preshaped and predrilled. The two holes on the left are for bolting…[Read more]

Oh man… This has the potential to cause bank account problems for a lot of TDr owners. These are the first adapters I have ever seen, drilled for the VW bolt pattern. Here is MWS’ web site:http://www.mws.co.uk/site/cms/contentChapterView.asp?chapter=1VW is not in the fitment guide. The adapter parts numbers are RSK380 (right side) and RSK381…[Read more]

Allen,The ground wire attaches to the mounting plate as in the Lucas socket.Having non-conductive bodies on out cars we have to run a ground wire from ALL lights and accessories. On a metal body car just mounting the lamp would have grounded it.So there are only two wires coming from the socket. The ground wire attaches to the mounting bolt. It’s…[Read more]

Bill, that’s hilarious.
I’ve returned to Bridget to find people–men and women, girls and boys, kids and grandparents–snapping pictures of themselves in front of her. I always ask if they want to sit in the driver’s seat and let me take the pic. I don’t always remember to get one for myself, but sometimes.Hey, I should driver her down B… -

U clamps work just fine. My car’s cable was looped through a single cable clamp and it stayed fast for decades. When I replaced it I went sort of overboard.

Yeah Royal – drilled for vw and ready to go. I should be able to replace a bent spoke. It is very slight but I know good wire wheel shops can do it. Yes,’i will have to look for lugs with a shorter head. I am not sure what color to paint them. Yes they are painted. I may go with the standard silver but I have been toying with the idea of black.…[Read more]
