The Motorcycle Community has amazing looking caps – many are screw in. Does anyone here know if the filler neck for a Harley is the same size as the generic looking cap I posted here? That would be the simplest and most cost effective fix for my particular “problem”

Hey Langan, I looked up on google for a Windsheild/Glass company, and they cut me a new flat autoglass windshield. They installed it in my orginal Dutchess TDr frame, all for about $150. Just a thought. I also purchased on line from a Dune Buggy web site, new rubber gaskets and the frame to car car molding. I do not remember the cost for the new…[Read more]

Ricrx7, Somehow I missed your post! Did your BCW come like that or did you modify it to be more like the TD? Noticed the dash – phenominal – if you did it let me know what the process was like.
Other thing I noticed was the hand-brake on the driver’s side – mine is on the passenger side and I would love to put it between the seats or on the dr… -

Happens with rebuilt stuff too.
Replaced the distributor in my ’65 Plymouth. Timing and dwell set to exact factory specs. But after just a couple miles, car would start stumbling & coughing and would soon stall. Go under the hood, timing would be way off. After demonstration my insanity over a few weekends (doing the same thing over and over and… -

Hope the Pertronix works for you. Suggest you check its advance also. Since German Bosch distributors are NLA, this is far too common a problem…

I hope you find solace in the fact that yours is not an uncommon circumstance. 😉

Just a thought. If you modify/adapt your actual gas filler neck you should probably include a ground wire linking all involved metal parts to the metal of the gas tank to guard against static electric sparks. ❗

I don’t know how handy you are, but you may be able to make a “hybrid” from your existing cap and one from mgmagic. Use their chrome caps with your screw in end…Here is the link for their gas caps:http://www.mgmagicclassicmotorparts.com/search.php?search_query=gas+capThey’re pretty inexpensive so if you get one and it doesn’t work out your not…[Read more]

Wow Ric,
That looks like a really nice car. Tough call! But there’s no right or wrong answer here! The Carlisle show is for imports and kit cars/replicars. An original TD is more than welcome! The showfield is segmented by manufacturer. And some clubs get their own space on the field. The Speedster Owners Club that the TDr guys hang with have their… -

Wish I had the option of natural gas, both for the house and garage. A big disadvantage of my more rural setting – that, and lack of cable TV/internet.

You might want to check out hot air gas furnaces like used in older mobile homes. They are compact small units that easily hook up and supply quick heat. You likely could get a used one cheaply at a mobile home supplier.
