I’m looking to purchase. Ideally looking for a rear-engine TD replica, but we’re open to front engine replica or even a genuine MG. Also open to other models TF or older. Willing to consider both running and non-running cars. Located in Southern New Hampshire but will travel.

This post is fairly old, so I assume you’ve sold this already? Or is this still available?

They’re scarce as hens teeth. You’ll need to supply the make of the kit and whether front or rear engine. You’ll find the grill from the original TD will be easier to find, but will require modifications to surrounding body panels to make fit.

If you haven’t moved on this, would you post a link? I would like to see what he would take for the carpet set.

Caveat: this interchangeability is between Ford and VW of the same brand kit. So Fiberfab to Fiberfab, Dutchess to Dutchess and Allison to Allison. If you have a MiGi VW and buy a British Coach Works or other brand dashboard it won’t fit.

Thanks 🙂 I’m in a similar situation . Found a guy who bought an unbuilt Ford kit years ago and has decided to part it out . I’m rebuilding a VW car and need all the soft goods but wasn’t sure if his stuff would fit. We are on opposite sides of the country so I can’t test fit any of it. Great info, thanks again 🙂

With the exception of carpeting, yes. I drive a FordTD and had come across someone selling the soft trim package for a TDr cheap. (Builders garage had burnt down and these items were in his basement) Seat covers and tonneau fit fine. I did not receive a top so I can’t confirm. Carpeting for the back area behind the seat fit but the floor is…[Read more]

Are the cockpit dimensions the same between the VW models and the Pinto models of the Fiber Fab TD kits ? Specifically will the soft goods interchange ? Top, tonneau, carpets, seat covers etc ? TIA

Can anyone tell me where I can find a chrome front grill housing for my MGTD replica, fiberfab?

Good luck. My grill shell was damaged in a crash several years ago. I and body shop was never able to find a replacement. You can find, sometimes, the original grill…

Good evening. At present, I have a 1957 Hillman Husky which I have upgraded with an engine and transmission from a 1964 Sunbeam Alpine, a newer rearend from an MGB and a front clip replacement also from an MGB, so it is time to put things back together and put it back on the road. Prepping to move to another home is taking over in the meantime,…[Read more]

Thank you Ed for the information. We are going to plan on it. However, I think I’m going to choose a Hilton because I have a lot of points to use. If that’s a issue, please let me know! I’ll probably arrive Thursday afternoon also. I live near Akron Ohio, so I will bring a trailer. I’m not built for a 5 hour drive in a TD. I did meet CRASH5…[Read more]
