Thanks gentlemen! I am in Kennesaw, GA, just NW of Atlanta. I have doubts that the car will be ready to go anywhere by this May, but see it doable by the next. Is Carlisle in PA? Does the show have an on-line presence where I could find out more about it?

I’m wondering if anyone has built a trailer to haul a VW- MiGi? I’m picturing about a 14 foot single axle car trailer with a 2 foot dovetail and the trailer axle slid way back to about a foot in front of the real wheels of the towed car vehicle. Originally these were not painted. It’s gel coat.I painted mine in ignorance. The gel coat could probably have been brought back to life.
There is a thread or two in the forums.

I’d like to find out if my Duchess is painted in an original color scheme. It’s tan with chocolate brown fenders and running boards. I want to match some touch up paint (without taking a fender and a door to Home Depot). Any suggestions?

My name is Bud and I’m from Punta Gorda, Fl. I just bought a Royal Duchess a few days ago. The previous owner lived 4 hrs away, so I drove it home. In the dark. In the rain. In 50 degree weather. I found a shop willing to work on it, but they only have one guy familiar with VWs. So, it’s scheduled for next week and they’ll have it for a few days. At $130/hr it won’t be cheap, but worth it. Besides, I’ll use the down time to get some other issues resolved myself. (I’ve been a VDub guy since the ’70s and can do the motor work)

My Lucas fog lights aren’t working. I have power and a good ground to the lights. The bulb shows continuity so should be ok. What am I missing?

its not that hard to do yourself the samba.com or youtube can show you how . Any shop that does vintage VW cars can do it. keep us informed on how it goes
