I’ve been wanting to get one for a while now.  Never welded before but I have couple friend that do and said they would teach me, or at least show what to do.

I see about $150 of time in this, for a mechanic at least.

Nice, and you saved 150.00, well minus your time and the bezels.  I wonder if the speedo shop knew that’s all it needed, but really didn’t want to mess with it.  I know a mechanic like that, if it’s something he doesn’t want to mess with he will quote a higher price to avoid it.

I did switch out the front lamps for LED’s and had to use an electronic flasher as opposed to the old mechanical unit. Plug and play.

I put them in when I refinished mine. I found that they were not as bright as the standard 1157’s. I switched them back out.

These guys have a lot more $$$$ than me to play with.  My brother, before his stroke, wanted to make a TD replica into pick up truck.   If I had the bucks I’d do it for him, maybe with tracks!! (:
