I was looking at my car and I think I’ll need to drop the front some, but it looks like that if I remove all the small leaves and it drops it 2″ it might be too much. Has anybody just removed some of the small leaves to get a smaller drop and if so how many and how much drop did you get?Sam

That’s not it unless he changed the color to blue. I wonder what it sounds like. Does it backfire, The one on ebay appears a little more crude

Is it this one? The builder visited our forum once or twice, I believe. He did a nice job & made just what i had originally planned to make with Bridget. I changed my mind when I calculated the range I’d get. He got a little less than I expected.
I’m hoping that by the time the Suby needs replacing there will be proper batteries available for… -

When I built my car the windshield came packaged in a box from a marine supplier.

Thanks George, a boat shop I would have never thought of . All I need now is a template or drawing . Maybe I can bribe MG Magic to supply their spec’s with a purchase of something else.If anyone could post a few pictures of their windshield since I don’t quite know what they look like it would help in making one up that looks nice. Many thanks!

Looks like from the wear marks that it might be that bit sticking out at about 3 o’clock on the alternator.

Thanks Dan, but he’s right, I need the frame most importantly. The idea of a rod shop to custom make sounds possible. I will get the dimensions and e-mail that custom shop and see if it is a possible fit. I guess MG Magic is looking for a maker like that when they decide to restock. I’ll keep bugging them. By the way, they were asking alot for…[Read more]

The cylinder head tins are there Ed. That’s all I run…but let’s resurrect the engine cooling thread for discussion.Back to Mike’s alternator…Mike,First, I’m sure you know this, but there is technically no such thing as a “standard 67 alternator.”Standard is a generator. Later model Beetles had alternators…I think beginning in 1973.There is…[Read more]

That is very hot! I theorized that the coolant lines might give some strength if done right. Thanks for posting.

thanks for input. I took some pictures so you could see what i have as opposed to what you might have. Keep in mind i have never even looked at a VW before this one so i don’t know what looks normal and what does not. When i ordered the 1st replacement alternator i got one for a 1967 engine. But the one that they gave me was what i assume is a…[Read more]

Here’s a shot of my friend who is building a T Bucket with an MR-2 engine in the back and the radiator in the front. This is the second one of these he’s building. The coolant lines are made from aluminized exhaust pipe and are welded through the frame members in order to actually become a strength member. This shot shows them coming through the…[Read more]

When I test mounted that Grant Banjo, it was in my knees and too close to my diameter. Now it feels just right. I did three things to fix this.1. I cut a bigger loop out of the dash and remounted my end of steering column about 1 inch higher.2. I took the hub apart and flipped the back collar. Now the Grant adapter fastens to the inside of the…[Read more]
