Here’s one source for new:
Most of us have “sourced” the windshield wipers and blades to match our specific donor car. Note that the arms need to match the specific windshield motor. If yours is VW based, do you know the year of the donor? You’d need to s… -

So, if you have a “narrowed” front beam, then …. maybe?

Okay folks. Here’s the news on the MG Magic wire wheels for our TD. The reason they list the 4 and 5 lug wheels for the VW on the Gazelle/SSK portion and NOT the TD portion is because of the fender width. The kit manufacturers narrowed the fender for the TD and if you purchase the wire wheels, which will fit the VWs, the wheels will stick out past…[Read more]

Paul, thanks but my window Isinglass completely zips out from inside with the windows installed. I also have the special tool but don’t need it for tolls. …just trying to point out some things that Dale might want to think about if he is going to purchase.

Toll booths are easy….
Install a zipper, under the side window, with a flap on the outside to protect it. That’s Classic Roadster Ltd approach. I’ll show you over the weekend Roy.
You can also put your arm through there to snap the curtain to the windshield frame.Or buy one of these and you can snap it on from inside the car. -

$500 is cheaper than I can get it done here on the east coast. I was looking at $700 (with windows) a year ago when I decided to “baby” my old one.
A nice fitting top definitely extends my driving season. These TDr tops are very weather tight compared to ones on original TDs. But the suicide doors make the TDrs more awkward getting in and out… -

Thanks Roy – I guess I will pass till a Fiberfab top comes up somewhere – I do have my old top and bows someplace – not sure about the door glass – but it is costly around here – 500.00 I would guess to have a top made?

Dale, I have a Daytona MiGi and Happy Jack has a Fiberfab MiGi and a BCW. The other day, he was admiring my tonneau cover so I told him to test fit it on his cars. To both of our surprises, ignoring the snaps, it was too big for either of his cars.
I never knew this but apparently, my Daytona body tub is a bit (about 2″) longer than FF or BCW… -

Put black tape on them and have a look.

edward ericson replied to the topic Grille Slat Color in the forum General Discussion 11 years, 10 months ago
The originals were usually interior color as you say, but not always. Sometimes body color. Some of the Mark IIs got chrome grills.
Black is pretty much never wrong. Makes it look badass. -

There’s gotta be lots of tractor rads that would fit in there. multiple core and rad cap in the middle on most too! I’ll do a little research there!

KentT…Sorry. I just came across this post. The CMC manual says to install the hood with temporary 1/16-inch washers at three places on the side cowl. These three washers are removed after the hinges are installed. Its on part one, pages 31 and 32 of the CMC manual in the download section.newkitman2013-10-21 21:02:59

on my fiberfab I get into the steering links at about 19″. and I don’t want the rad right at the top either. Do you think airflow will be a problem? Looks to me like it would be far better than the poor air-cooled gets at the back!

edward ericson replied to the topic Soob swap in the forum VW Based Kits 11 years, 10 months ago
Thanks, Eddy. That might do it. But maybe not, as the 4.5-inch dimension is slightly bigger than what I’ve been quoted for the Saab unit. What I want is the narrowest box I can find. The space behind the TD grill is about 15 inches on top and it tapers as it drops to about 12 inches. A 14-inch height becomes a 14-inch width, and the length is not…[Read more]

Years ago my brother mounted a Ford 94 hsp Cortina engine in his baha bug. Radiator was incorporated in the rear bumper. Looked really strange going down the road and he had problems keeping the ft end on the ground (wheelies at start and just about every gear). It was lots of fun and FAST. We were lots younger then too 20 something. He st…[Read more]
