Welcome to the group.
trouble with electricals on these things mostly=bad grounds. Find your ground strap(s) and re-attach them clean, then add two more. Then start trouble-shooting.Also: the brake light switch is in the master cylinder. It’s low down and crusty (usually). ANd you probably have a spare already attached. If the brakes aren’t… -

Once again the forum saves the day!!!
I’ve been having a recurring problem with the passenger side door latch. The pot-metal cam inside keeps popping off the steel lever arm. when that happens you cannot open the door from the outside and it’s difficult to open from the inside as well.
So I pulled it out and set to fixing worn pot-metal to steel.…[Read more]

I think that putting up with me and my 2 TDrs is about all she wants to handle. She did make a complete top and side curtains (Different from factory as we didn’t have anything to copy). I made the mechanism using conduit and boat parts. She made a windshield to back tonneau cover for it and a boot cover as well. She made a mini cover and…[Read more]

Mike,Did you fasten the bottom piece to the sides? Not sure if all the kit assembly manuals showed this, but on my Duchess, there is a single screw on each side, through the side rail and into the channel that is on the bottom of the bottom piece of the frame.Take a look at pages three and four of Part 4 – Body and Interior of the Classic Roadsters…[Read more]

Believe it or not, if you use isopropyl(rubbing alcohol), getting the glass and seal into the frame is easy peasy. There are several trial fits. One to get the glass into the frame; one to get the bottom rail lined up and sealing properly on the bottom to the body and mark where the screw goes and at least one more to fit the whole shebang to the car body.

I placed seal into frame as well as I could and used ratcheting tie downs to encourage into frame. Trimmed what I am calling excess seal. Seems seated and square fits as it should on body but is not mounted, and months from road test.
I’ve done it before but for the life of me I can’t upload picture.Oh evidently I canjuneybug2013-09-14 18:50:29

Okay. While some fiberglass work is drying I start to assemble the windshield assembly. Not a big problem but it will definitely take two people. What I found to be the hardest is making the seal fit around the corners. Even cutting a dart at each corner its tough. Anyone have any suggestions. A series of pictures to follow when I get it all done.…[Read more]
