Wow, that sits back. The mounting brackets seem way too long, but that’s what it shows in the manual. You can cut the intermediate shaft shorter along with the upper mounting brackets but you’ll need to know where the dash is going to be positioned. That position is what you need to begin shortening it. It’s your car, no two are alike, build it to fit you.

I placed the top in position and then placed the body snaps where the top dictated.

Welcome aboard Rick. I looked at your TD and she’s really nice looking. Not a fan so much of painted rims that aren’t silver but hey…your TD is running and I’m not finished building mine yet. Again welcome aboard the best TD site in existence!

Bill, you’re a shoe-in for most improved.  I’m not  planning on winning – just having some fun.  

First coat applied today. All the accident damage has now disappeared. These pieces haven’t been all one color in almost 20 years.

Go ahead and say it, Roy. You were the one that won the trophy. You deserved it. With a class just for the TD’s you’ll probably take home another. Look out, though, my repaint is coming along.

I just heard from George Michaels (Virginia Beach Auto & Air Show organizer) and he said that this year they have created a special category for TDrs.  There were about 300 cars at the show last year and one of our TDrs took home a 3rd place trophy in the “Vintage Imports” category against some mighty stiff competition.  

Rick, welcome aboard.  It’s darn near impossible to think of anything that you could do to fix or improve your TDr that hasn’t been done by some member before.  Ask a question and you will likely get more good advice that you wanted.
