As usual, Allen’s got it. If you are not familiar with engine rebuild, you really need Muir’s Compleat “How to Keep your Volkswagen alive” as a bare minimum. I also have the bug me video that Mike mentions and it’s a bit pricey but worth it.

There is youtube demos but I bought bugme video volume 2 and it is worth it. Although the members will have useful tips having visual is good. Cip1.com has engine dolly as cheap as you can build one.

long time no update…..My Dutchess has been my daily driver for about 4,000 miles now.:-)

I am still working towards getting my car built and titled by then. Unless Maryland MVA gets in my way, it looks promising right now.

Oceanfront Inn room reservations info:

New tranny ( untested – now tested ) installed w/ engine and everything else finished up.Did my test yesterday and everything worked great – did not even need to adjust my stick shift.Very happy – no popping out of first any more and good to go for Alan’s run and VA Fall season – best time of the year.Thanks for the support

The short was between the D+ wire and the F wire at the generator. ( I had the wires off to install a new style oil cooler and they got shorted together, Now my signal lights do some strange things!!

And that’s the color I wanted too, but I settled for a black one! I like that wiring harness too, mine is all done in black and white with labels! a real bear to trace and repair! I had a short somewhere yesterday and fried the ground wire in the main harness.
