Is just the rubber wiper blade missing, or is the whole wiper arm gone? When I replaced my rubber wiper blades I went to Walmart and bought one 18″ blade, cut in into 2 proper lengths and rethreaded them into the old wiper arms or blade holders or whatever you call them. Cheap easy fix, cost only a few dollars and no looking around for custom or…[Read more]

Thanks Kent!!I was a little disappointed when I came across low hp VW applications that you gave me the heads up. But then I stopped in the auto parts store and a had a sand rail guy offer to swap me out for a 009. Parts guy gave me a look so I passed, after he left I was surprised to find out they also used it in the 1964 Porsche 356c! 😮 Same…[Read more]

Thanks Kent. I am already running Pertronix pickup in the 009 so I guess that is as good as it gets there.
When I first rebuilt the Bugspray, I did not change the high speed jets and it came with .047. So when I first tested it, It ran like a scared rabbit. But, Fisher had recommended .060 and I had read about difficulty finding the right jet… -

The Bosch 019 centrifugal advance distributor works well on slightly modified engines that do not have provisions for vacuum advance. It provides more total advance than an 009 and the 010, with a gradual advance curve that tops out at about 3500 RPM as I recall. The 010 advances faster, tops out at about 2500 RPM, and is best suited for h…[Read more]

OK, it’s an 019 instead of a 009 distributor. Unless I’m mistaken that distributor was originally used on old VW vans/busses, while the 009 was for stationary power plants. I don’t guarantee that ancient history to be accurate — it’s been too long ago….
Parts for a Bosch 010 distributor should also fit the 019. You’ll have to go to a VW sp… -

Can’t read the data plate, but that appears to be a Bosch 009 distributor, not the original one…
009s are fully centrifugal advance, and are a common performance upgrade. -
